Anyone that is willing to translate, please do. I got the major changes that were in the discussions from sc2legacy.com.

    Brood Lord Model.

High Templar now has a new ability that acts like a mobile shield battery.

Raven is the new Night Hawks name. One of it's new abilities is the defensive drone which if you remembered, acts like the Predators ability in that it shoots down incoming projectiles.

I'm leery of the name changes... not that I hate name changes, but we're dealing with a different language here.

Raven sounds a lot like nighthawk to me (both being black-colored birds and all). Some of the German names are quite different (eg instead of stalker, use the German name for stalker). It's possible other "name changes" are also translations (eg disruptor for nullifier).

Thanks for posting. But didn't I and some others came up with the idea of a mobile shield battery ages ago?

Meh, I'm off to bed. Check my thread posting history. They already nicked the mine drone as well. I hope that on at least returns in campaign. I will post links tomorrow. Might be fun to compare them.

But it says 'with the previous name "Nighthawk"' and the same thing with the Nullifier (so it looks like we got a name change for that).

Raven might be a better name, but I just started to think Night Hawk sounded catchy. Typical. :p

The Brood Lord's model is disappointing. It looks like a giant Drone, not a 350 hp beast. The SC model was better, I think. Still, I do think this model looks better than the Swarm Guardian.

Looks like they brought emp back.

  11. If this actually happened and it's not just a language mistranslation, then I must say, I like "Nighthawk" much, much better. I'll admit, I bashed the name when I first heard it but once I saw the model and it's abilities, I knew it couldn't be anything else :D

Of course, I'll give the Raven a try before I completely bash it but, right now, it's sounding incredibly cliche and I just don't like it.

im not sure how to take this, source seems to be good, but as it is in a different language so mistranslation can happen easily, even with google translation.

  13. Yeah, we all know how great Google translation is :D

I don't believe this is a problem in translation.

However, I do believe this is a hoax. I've done some preliminary research on it, and as usual I will take a closer look but my initial assumption is that it's fake.

The "Brood Lord" model looks an awful lot like a Photoshopped Drone... it's uncanny. And also some of that German article is outdated. For instance, they refer to the "Hellion" when it's been 3 months since that named changed to "Jackyl."

Anyway, that's my two cents. I'll continue to pursue it. But I think this is just another attempt by some wacky site to get attention undeservedly. :D

thanks, i was gna say..if that is really the new brood lord then that would be stupid...lol

  17. Thanks Joneagle_X! You seem to be genuinely concerned with the legitimacy of news article. That seems to be getting pretty rare around this time of information drought among Blizzard fan sites.

Sometimes I wonder if StarCraftWire.net has this same dedication.

Funny thing: The Broodlord casts a Mutalisk shadow :D

Proof that it was shooped? I dunno. Although the design is awkward the quality is very high*.

Shadows are usually not that close beneath a flying unit (although the source of light in that screen shot could have been different from others). There could very well be a Mutalisk outside the pic. It looks very aligned with the BL though, in direction and size.

*Basically the same thing that happened with the Immortal portrait. Some people found it fake because of bad design, but the quality pretty much spoke for itself: A lot of effort had been put into it.

I really can"t see how that is going to replace the old model and i agree with joneangle its probably photo shopped because the middle looks a lot like a drone.

... dont you the other way around, that its been 3 months since they change the name from Jackal to Hellion? or am i now losing my ability to to keep track of data now?

anyway, after thinking about it for some time, i decided that its a good source, since the Plasma Surge ability most likely took the spot of the Phase Shift ability since it overlapped with the Vortex ability on the MotherShip
