I would post these on SC2GDF but I'd probably get post-wiped, so sorry in advance for just borrowing your forums. I just want to know a few things about the SC2 beta keys from those that got them at blizzcon. 1) Is there anything other than the key that ties you to the account? like your ticket number or name or anything? 2) Are the keys guaranteed to be for SC2, and not just a random game? 3) Are you allowed to exchange / sell beta keys? 4) Is there anything else I need to look out for? I'm looking to buy one on EBay or somewhere and I'm trying to avoid being done. Thanks.
1.no 2.no guarantee but all evidence points to it. 3.not allowed to , but peopel still do. 4.i would not buy it now because there is no way to confirm that the beta key is going to work if you get it now. wait till it is official, then buy it if you want.
I totally agree with the above. Because to me you'll lose the whole wow factor when playing the retail version for the first time if you've been through the beta process. That's why personally if I got a beta key I'd give it away. Because I want to play it first time on release day. Mind you if I wasn't so interested in the game I'd take a beta key just to help out the devs I really like.
my Question would be: are the people with the beta key the only people that will be able to play beta? or will Blizzard open the beta at some point for everyone to play. i am used to the Ensemble Studios Beta for AOE3, they brought it out and everyone could download it and get a taste for the real game, it wasnt the whole game, just one map, on civ and you played, so it doesnt compare.... i hope they open the Beta at some point, even if its only like 2 weeks before the game comes out. ill still get the beta and play it. -Zerks
