I have about 8 builds now for terrans but its hard to memorize all the litle details frome ach build. I mean my builds are complexe, its not just 10 depot 12 rax 13 refinery. It normally goes up to where i expand. This is a question for people with about 5 builds or more; What is your trick/tip or anything that could help me cuz i have some pretty awsome builds but its hard to memorise them cuz it goes from fast expand to 1 base play, into 1/1/1 build with 2 rax into factory with 1 rax 1 factory into expand etc etc. 10 Depot 12 rax 13 refinery 17 depot 19 rax 20 factory 22 refinery 24 OC 10 Depot 12 Rax 13 Refinery 15 OC 16 Depot 18 Factory 23 refinery 37 CC 10 Depot 12 Rax 13 Refinery 15 OC 16 Depot 18 Factory 22 Refinery 24 Starport 37 CC Here are 3 of my builds. So you can have a good idea of the details in my builds. It's pretty damn hard to remember just these 3, twice as hard for 8 builds.
Man, just play without a specific build in mind. Have an aim on what you wanna do and notice what's going on in the game and work towards your aim(you see minerals raising? build that thing you had in mind to build, etc). Builds like the ones you posted are easily turned over by an enemy trying something to get you off balance. If you get attacked while your pop is at 23 and have to make units to counter, will you stop your unit building at 24 to make that starport at build 3? you know, strategy is not memorising a build order...
You want to start with the basic 10 supply depot, 12 rack. By that time you should have scouted. Make your build centered around what your opponent is doing. If you don't know what counters what, watching replays online can help a lot. Also I would recommend upgrading to orbital command at 16...not really sure why it's so late in the first build you listed. As for expanding, do it when your opponent isn't prepared to push out. So an ideal time is when you're attacking. Look up Force on YouTube. He makes great videos.
honestly i dont memorise anything i say i want to do this, and then i do it while trying to build probes constantly all i got in pylon at 9 and thats because the money works out that way, beyond that build what i want when i can rather than going i need to have x at 16 food
In the first build the OC is late cuz when i tested it it worked better cuz in that build im going 1 base agressive style, im constantly building units and its not free plus im getting an expansion when i attack
The thing is, though, OC gives you the ability to make mules, and mules will help you stock up a lot more minerals a lot faster. It's worth losing a few marines to get it early.
I repeat: That build is for 1 base agressive style, I can get much more units out in the short term if i dont get my OC very early. That means that in that build I make a pretty early attack, and with that attack my goal is to kill him. So why should i get mules if my goal is to kill him in the first few minutes? Basically if i lose that push hardcore, i'm dead, he will be able to outmacro me and then im dead. But i still love that 1 base agressive style play because I am pretty damn good with it..
Well.... I have pretty much 1 build that I use exclusively so I never run into any problems remembering ^_^ But memorizing builds is the same as memorizing anything else. Do whatever you would normally do to remember anything. As long as your opening is standardized up to the point of your first scout, you should be good to go.
If you're getting an expansion while you attack, you aren't pushing "hardcore." If you're going to tell people they're wrong, at least be consistent. The orbital command's benefits far outweigh any additional army you're going to get with that 150 minerals and the upgrade time.
huh? Since I am making scvs non stop, i start having more money even if im macroing well with 2 rax and 1 factory. When i gets at 400 even if im macroing, then i push out. Ihave a secured expansion since he wont attack me unless he completely pwned my guys. So it's a safe expo. Then i add a starport, another rax, engineering bay, other stuff and i attack again with even bigger and stronger army. Shows how much you know...
