I'm in bronze and ive won 15 straight. yes 15 and im in still in bronze. I'm now only rank 11 because my division is ridiculously stacked for some reason. BUT I know the only way to move up to silver is to beat silver players. Why am i not getting the opportunity?? Not only that but about 12 or 13 of the 15 straight wins Ive been favored in. I'm definitely not being challenged by the system. Is this common?

Chances are that you have been having a losing streak in the past or that your MMR is somehow very low, or that for some reason the system lacks trust in your actual MMR... Not sure why that happened to you, but generally the system works sufficiently well...

Try playing more matches and you'll start facing different opponents for sure...

I'm in a similar situation, I have like 25 wins with like 5 or so loses spread between them and expecting a promotion anytime soon, but you have to hit a match threshold for a reevaluation to happen(it happens every few matches- like 20-30 of them)...

Dunno, just keep playing to the best of your ability and you'll end up playing against higher opponents...

If you lose to every higher rated opponent and not consistently win against lower rated oponents then your MMR factor drops very fast and your volatility factor raises since the system loses trust in your skill.
Your MMR could have skydived below your actual skill level, and is trying to stabilize you increasing the mmr of your opponents slowly...

Dunno, I ain't really sure what could have caused it...

It doesn´t matter how many winstreaks you have or even how good opponents you win against. It is ALL about your MatchMaking Rating. It is hidden so you cant see it, the only way to be promoted is to play, play and play ladder games. You can get promoted even by losing so your win records is not worth anything.

usually the pattern of promotion is winning alot and then losing 2-3 games..

Same for demotion, just the opposite. Losing alot then winning a few.

It'd be better to know as a player how you can promote,
I don't get the system at all. In 1 league, I was promoted after playing 5 matches (so 10 matches in total, with the placement matches), and in the ohter, our ratio is really good, and we've played like 60 matches, we are rank 5 or so, but we haven't promoted yet.

The problem is, I don't really have the feeling that the longer I play in a league, the harder my opponents get. I think all our opponents are like gold level, just like we are now (but we should get promoted, IMHO), but when I'm playing 2v2 with someone else, we only get plat and diamond opponents.

I find this system kinda weird, although I know it is a good system (because it's made by Blizzard, and Blizzard is awesome). Maybe you guys could give me some explanation on it? ^^

Offtopic: Robin, are you a fan of the band ' Tool' , or does your name have nothing to do with it? If it does, you're awesome.

To mvoe up into another league to you have to be #1 in your current league ? Or could you be ranked like 8th and still get promoted ?

    You don't have to be #1. ^^
