    Hello,

First, I'd like to say, my new PC is not completed yet, but should be done this week. Thus, I haven't tried any of what I'm asking yet.

Question: watching players (mainly very good ones I assume) playing SC2 via replay videos, I notice when psi storms are being used, it appears that 3-5 of them are being used SUPER FAST to blanket areas with it.

I am wondering; in SC2, If i multiselect/group multiple templars into one unit and use psi storm, does it use it for all of them and offset them so they aren't on the same spot? OR does it let the player click once for each selected templar to allow for a quick bombardment?

The other option I can think of, is just selecting multiple templars one bye one via hotkeys and just using psi storm very fast wherever you click.

Any ideas how players do it so fast?

    Regards,

    Sanjay

    starcraft2 has smart cast.

so if you have 5 templars and only tell em to storm once, only one templar will storm. if you tell em to storm 3 times only 3 of the 5 templars will storm.

ya know wut im saying dawg?

when you have multiple templars selected, pressing the hotkey and clicking will cause ONE templar to use the storm, so rapidly pressing the hotkey and selecting areas will allow you to carpet.

ok, so to confirm, this sounds like: select multiple of any units.

Let's say, T is the hotkey for power X.

I hit T and click the battlefield, then hit T again, and click battlefield, etc.

This will cause multiple instances of power T all over the map

Did i miss anything? Sounds ....cool :)

(as you can probably tell, Protoss are my favourite faction)

Can't wait for the new PC :)

^ That's correct: Smart Cast abilities require you to hotkey (or click) once per use per unit. It's particularly useful for Psi Storm since overlapping storms don't stack damage.

Also worth noting is that his time around virtually every ability has a cooldown timer. In the case of Psi Storm, the cooldown is 2 seconds (so you can no longer order a single High Templar to cast four Psi Storms back-to-back).

Also worth noting that psi storms do not stack so blanketing larger areas with storm is the only real purpose of the smartcast, casting 3 storms in the same area does the same damage as casting 1 storm on that area.

Won't holding shift as you are clicking where to cast it allow multiple and quicker casts? As long as the templars are not currently engaged in any actions, such as moving and they have no attack.
