Hi everybody, i've never played Starcraft and am new to the series. I am looking for a good RTS to play, the last RTS I played was Age of Mythology (which I loved). That was years ago though and I am looking for a new game. I would like to know, is this game good for someone who doesnt spend the majority of their time playing video games? Also how is the community for this game I like competition, but not people who take games too seriously. So is the community forgiving or are they no mercy, go for your throat? One more thing are there any other games that may compare to this?
Hey im new to sc2 also and there is a ranking system so you will be matched with people of the same skill level so you should be fine. From what ive heard its a awesome game and Im so pumped for it. The community has treated me well so far if I had a question no matter how newbie they arent mean and answer I really like the community. My guess is there will be alot of people buying the game even people who havent played rts so you should be fine. (Omg i loved age of mythology such a good game) well looks like we will both get to learn the ropes
The community is quite friendly, at least on this forum, not sure about others. Blizzard is an expert at making games enjoyable for everyone, from old daddy trying to show he is still into new stuff, who plays for an hour a week, to mr progamer, who drinks starcraft strategy guides.
Don't forget the single player and all the custom maps that will be made. In Warcraft 3 I remember having a huge collection of custom maps - not just dota but hundreds of different Tower Defense maps, Footman wars, Zone Control, a whole bunch of different kinds. We can expect to see the same and more in SC2 because the tools for map making build upon the excellent WC3 tools.
Yea, I can imagine some ppl won't even play a single league match ever and jump straight to custom games.
