Question about Terrans vs Zerg

Question about Terrans vs Zerg

  1. Now if i did my math correctly, if this game is "perfectly balanced" and 2 insane computers go head to head, one of which is zerg and the other Terran... they each win 50% of the time. Then why is it that if you put two insane comps head to head the terran will beat the zerg EVERY TIME. Now i was going to follow that sentence with a question mark but apparently im not allowed...

2 possibilitys. 1. Its chance, Just because chance say it will be even, does not mean it will always happen of course. Try to widen the games and the "test" should even out alot more.

    2. Maybe the zerg ai uses the same combination while the terran does too but the terran has the counter units?

Anyway, please dont say terran is more powerful then zerg, its all fair when you get really good and find counters for mostly everything... Terran is definitely not op,, nor is toss, nor is zerg. All of them have weaknesses and there strengths.

Maybe terran is overpowered if they have twice the mineral collection rate?

Terrible way of testing it. The AI itself isn't balanced race versus race wise anyway and its not smart enough plus it can see all which may be again an advantage for the terran...However the largest factor is that the AI doesn't counter properally and it is heavily scripted so the scripting it would seem gives terran the advantage. I'd be interested to know how much these matches varied?

However yes all Insane AI zerg players should be outraged!

  4. Lol no im not upset about terrans being OP or anything its just that one way i practice what build order i should use when im playing online is to have an insane computer play another insane computer (i matchmake as random btw) and then just save the replay and take mental notes. with every other combo (toss vs zerg, zerg vs zerg, toss vs terran, etc.) its usually pretty even but an insane Zerg just gets blitzed by marine/marauder combo every damn time.

Limitations of the programming. It has no more value as a balance test than a zerg player beating a terran insane AI every time.

If you flip a quarter 10 times it is completely possible to get heads all 10 times in a row..Now if you flip that quarter ten thousand times it will be closer to five thousand heads and five thousand tails.

While I admittedly don't know how the AI has been programmed, my assumption would be it is not designed to respond 'randomly'. If that is the case your analogy is inapt.

That's one of the main combos I have trouble with. That type of combo needs to usually be detected ahead of time for Zerg, in order to counter it. Early game, that combo is pretty powerful for Terran. If everybody is right about computers producing the wrong combos, I wouldn't suggest developing your online build order based on what the computers do(I haven't played the computer much). Constant scouting and comsat(I think it's stilled called that) detection is your best bet online. It's all about knowing what you're opponent is doing, and countering it.

Zerg is all I've been playing, and all I care to play. I've versed some pretty good Terran on the platinum league. I can show you some replays or even give you some advice against Zerg if you would like. Just PM me.

I just narrowly won a game against a terran who massed marauders. It was really ugly, this **** is so much op. In no time he had tons of them and nothings stops them and when they are in your base they just rip everything apart. I already wanted to gg (had the chat bar open) - luckily I didn't and won the game later on. But if he had been a bit better than he was he would have won by just massing marauders - what does stop them (besides mutas)?

So how would you counter an early marauder push, female doggy?

You could maybe counter it by mass banelings and blow the **** out of them?
