I've been trying to work out someway to get my queen to spawn larva on a hatchery without me having to manually click the hatchery - It would be useful when managing an attack/ preparing next wave. What I'm wondering is if you can do something like this: Make hatchery hotkey 1 Make Queen hotkey 2 Press something like...2 > V > ctrl+1 ? I've tried a lot of combos but none seem to work...is this possible to do?
Group all your queens on the same control group like 1 for exemple. Click 1, click s, hold shift and click on the minimap everywhere you got an hatchery. If you have 1queen/hatchery, they will spawn larva on each of them. This way's quick enough to do it in a fight when you actually always look at your army!
Or a better way: put your hatcheries on 3 for example and your first queen on 4 and finally your second on 5. Zerg have no barracks or stargate etc so you click 3 for making units and for the larvae: 44 then v and 55 then v. It's easier cuz clicking tab isn't that easy. 44v 55v and its already done. But I also think the rock's way is quite good.
Needs alot of practice !! Last 4 day's I'm trying to do it but still.. If it gets too stressy it's hard to do.. guess it takes more time to learn.
I didn't even get what he said lol. I use 9 for all my hatcheries then I go backwards with all my queens: 8 for the one at the main, 7 at natural, 6 at other expo, this way I know that after pressing 8 I click on the minimap where my main hatch is, etc. My games don't last too long and/or I'm not skilled enough to have more than 3 hatcheries and queens lol.
I just spawn larva through the minimap. My hatcheries are hotkeyed #1 Queens hotkeyed #2 2 + V is a great combination for me. Allows me to spawn larva through the minimap quite fast. I feel 2 also goes great with C(creep tumors) and T (transfusion). But really, spawning Larva is all about remembering. I forget at times too >_>.
Yeah, the capability to queue commands for special abilities in addition to movement commands and "smart" casting were some nice features they added.
Perhaps Blizzard should make a louder or ear catching sound for when larva hatch. It only takes a couple seconds to run through a few hatches and inject larva in them and then get back to where you're at. My biggest problem is I never hear any noise or see anything that says the larva are out so I forget to do it once my screen starts having to travel off my base.
