Hey, i've noticed there are a great many threads like this so I'm assuming this is the place to post.

I'm having a horrible losing streak, and was hoping I could get a critique of a few of my recent games. >=\

If anyone could take the time to view the attached replays I'd be grateful.

Only watched the first (second didn't load for me), overall you play was pretty sound. You had more collectors than he did, managed to repel his assault and tried countering. You mistakes from what I could see were 1) You never rebuilt your gateways and 2) you took some time to rebuild the expo.

Although gateway units are weak against bioballs they are necessary if anything to absorb fire meant for the collosi. a new favorite tactic of mine is to get blink fairly early and get 8 gates up then try to blink into a weak spot in the OP's base...try to kill as many building as possible while there and blink away (or toward, in the case of siege) as necessary.

Two other things I do...keep a probe (or a transport) trailing and get a pylon up fairly close but out of sight...with 8 WG's and blink you can keep a steady stream of stalkers going and being a general PITA.

also, with the amount of tanks he was pumping out you probably should have shift tactics to either air or templars. HT's will chew up bioballs with some well placed storms, DT's mixed in with your army will increase damage significantly and will hopefully take some time before the OP realizes he's facing cloaked units.

On the air side I have good luck with a mix of carriers and VR's but this an expensive build and if he's strong with rines they will chew it up...but then just try to skirt his forces while attacking production and research buildings.

overall though I think I've only won one or two games where I teched heavy at the expense of warpgate units. most builds I have success with are 8 WG with either robo, templar or air support. you get a WG ball with about 4 VR's and you will be able to chew through a TON...especially now that VR's are Capital unit killers.

ok watched the lost temple one. first things first you cannot go 4 warp gate and 2 robo on 1 base then expand. you do not have enough money to build from all 6 of those structures and build probes and expands ( hell you dont have enough to just build units from them) that is your first problem as you can either go 4 gate OR 2 gate robo with either of these builds you would have more money put into having an army. secondly you built two robo at the 6 min mark, when you had built only 2 zealots ( ie you had the money to build more army) then finally at then 10 min mark you made the fisrt unit from the robo. this is 4 min in which you have sunk 400min and 200 gas for no reason thats 4 zealots or 3 stalkers. this is the main reason you lost. you did not make units rather you made structures to make units which cost money and dont actually do anything if you dont build from them. simply put either go for a 4 gate or a 2 gate robo, dont try and go for both. you will get up to that kind of production levels later when you 3 base or so.
