I have a lot of difficulty countering tanks + hellion as protoss, if i do zealots, hellion are doing huge dmg + they prevent my zealots to go right to the tanks. Immortal are very nice but they cost a lot and i still need to get to the tanks.. i guess some flying?

    any ideas?

    Thank you!

Stalkers and Immortals. Stalkers can blink to the tanks, immortals don't even have to since a tank blast does 10 damage to them.

Stalkers and immortals are good.. Stalkers should be in any protoss army, but stalkers aren't that great vs tanks. If you are couple tanks, get an immortal. If you are facing a lot of tanks, cut back on stalkers, pump up immortals. If you really want to take care of tanks altogether, get stalkers and some zealots and some immortals and a good amount of phoenix. 5 or 6 is a good amount. Graviton beam all of the sieged tanks and then move in with stalkers to first clean up the remaining army then the floating tanks. It works very well if performed correctly.

Blink Stalkers are my bane when I'm trying to run Hellions around.

Immortals make me sad. They... what? Four shot tanks?

After the first ground weapon upgrade, they even three shot tanks.
Though when your counters include the very first units available to each race, I'd call it fair.

Yeah I would have to say that the best counter of a turtling/mech terran are large amounts of immortals and stalkers. Immortals, in a decent numbers, can walk through tanks while stalkers can deal with smaller units/any air. This is something I have come to the conclusion of after playing against terrans who turtle or go mech.

Abuse the simplicity of protoss in that there are less units that can cover a larger field of circumstances.

you need to scout them... before you get an immortal, get an chrono boost an observer and you should have seen that going void rays/phoenixes was the right way to go

Oh. And I got slaughtered once by a really good Protoss player when he used Phoenixes to lift my tanks up (even doing some damage with the available Phoenixes) while his Chargelots just turned my marines into a sloppy mess.

Well, actually... 100 tanks could probably destroy your entire base before you could kill all of them with your void ray.

Anyway, void rays would actually be very good in a "enemy has no air attack" situation.

From my vast experience (9 ranked games lol) a turtling terran is susceptible to mass (5-6 usually does it) void rays. Tip: go around the map and enter as close to their mineral line as you can. This way, you can kill off their scv's before they attack you.

If you can stay and fight, do it. If not, just fly back to the edge of the map, wait for your shields to come back. Repeat. Of course, I've played 9 games so take my advice with a grain of salt.
