What do u think is better so far toss or terran. right now i think i am liking terran because of the viking, cobra, and the new marines sounded like a huge improvement.. the terrans sounds cooler then protoss right now especially since the star relic cannot cloak without moving and the colossus is pretty vunerable and expensive

We can't possibly know that yet because we still don't know how exactly will both races work. But as for speculations, I can see very good strategical uses for both of them, although I see more potential in terran.

I think they are both equally cool. But if I were to choose one, I would prefer the Protoss.
Terrans new style actually isn't really my kind of thing. Alot of the new Terran mechanics focus on defence. I'm not really a defensive kind of guy. Their units also don't seem to have the mobility of the Protoss. I'm more of a build some units, and go harras type of player. Speaking of mobility, Thors seems like its speed is going to be up there with the Reavers in terms of slowness.

As for the Protoss, Warp-ins would lead up to many interesting strategies. Not to mention, I think the Immortals are going to be more useful then expected. From my understanding, Immortals will be very effective against the Siege Tanks, Thors, and the Reaper's bombs. Not to mention, the Immortals have crazy amount of HP.

So yea, although the Terrans have a lot of cool new toys/mechanics, I still prefer the Protoss new toys/mechanics simply because it suits my taste better.

terran has always been about pushing (making ur defence a very dangerous offence)
but as some1 already said, we just cant know who is the better one atm, it prolly boils down to the one thing, the player behind the keyboard 8)

edit: TvZ is a more head-on approach by the terrans as the zerg should, if possible, not be allowed to evolve to hive level

Protoss! They were the less tactical and most simple of the races back in SC1 and a little more complex in BW w the dark archon and the dark temps, but now with the warp mechanics, including blink, they will surely be a lot more fun to play with. Phase prisms are my favourite units. They allow a lot of creative gameplay.

I like them both, but me being a Terran player, I just can't say no to units like Viking and Banshee. That being said, Stalker is still probably my favorite new unit so far and HT seem to still be one of the most annoying things to play against.

Toss is all about the tech tree while Terran are just the pain in the ass of SC....Terran forever!

For raw power I'd have to say that the Protoss still hold the advantage.

Terrans are easily dug in and will have the advantage in base defense but all in all it seems like it'll be balanced.

Everything has a counter as they should...

Well, if you ask me i'd go for the Zerg, but since that's not even related to the topic...

    GOGO THOR (terran)

"Executor: Why isn't our Planet Cracker biting on the Zerg, Templar?"
"Templar: Those pesky Dark Swarms are soaking up all the damage!!"
"Executor: A single ability can counter our most powerful weapon? NERF!"

Just as a note. It seems that thus far, blizzard is avoiding alot of the abilities which would induce alot of balance problems into SC2. Things like lockdown and disruption field have been removed to avoid alot of difficulties later on. I have the same hunch about dark swarm.

i thought it was those abilities that made starcraft so balanced, even though whole armies can be literally destroyed by 1 unit it ended up working perfectly.

As it stands right now I am way more impressed with the terrans. The Protoss had some new stuff but felt like a small upgrade with no big surprises. The terrans however are bringing a ton of new units, abilities, and a **** load of firepower. The thor may not be a super unit but I think it's a lot more intimidating than the mothership.

I am torn. In the original Starcraft, I would play games with my race as "random" because I couldn't decide which to pick. So far it is looking like Starcraft 2 will be the same thing. Although admittedly I find the Protoss more aesthetically pleasing.

Thor more impressive then the mothership? eh I have doubts about that...especially since I always favored air to ground

Yeah the MS is all big and shiney but the Thor is huge lumbering giant of metal and death. And you're not limited to just one like the MS.

But unlike the mothership Thor is more long range artilery then actual superweapon, even with just time bomb I'm pretty sure the mothership could take on 2-3 Thor assuming thor can even attack the air.
