4 gate + robotics = my best build which rarely fails me cuz it counters everything my opponent goes.

2 gate + stargate = depends on the map, and if have committed mainly to melee units.

i don't like to proxy gate anymore, cuz it doesn't work in diamond.

i like to scout my opponent and pretend im looking everywhere and drop a proxy pylon in their base when they aren't paying attention and continue scouting lol, works 50% of the time.

Since your in diamond you be able to give me advice as im only a bronze/silver league play. I start off by building to my limit of probes then build one pilon, once thats built i build a gateway and the gas building(can't remember some names) then i build cyber and whilst the cyber is being built i build 2 zelets, once i've built a cyber i build 2 stalkers and do a little harrasment. Depending on what the player was building i build either robo to counter a ground force or star to add to more harrasment then build a robo once he thinks im going all out air.

do you reckon this is a good tactic that im using for the lower leagues and if i was to be highered up what adjustments would i need to make ??

I would say it depends greatly on your opponent's actions.

I would rather have 2-4 gateways up and running quickly than a handful of infantry units to "harass" my opponent with.

Do some scouting with an observer or use your ally's buildings to create a good strategy that counters theirs.

My build order with protoss focuses on early photon cannons and expansion, but that may be why I'm not performing as well with protoss as I am with other races :p.

Wall off my chock point and build 2 stargates spamming phoenixes, then getting them to destroy the enemy workers.Works most of the time, and when it doesn't work as intented it always leaves you with a good force which can fit with virtually anything i decide to continue.

Ahem. So you attack their mineral flow with a unit that can only attack air?

Was that a typo or do you just not play this game very well?

I never completely wall off. I use a gateway and a pylon to make a narrow choke, and just stick a few zealots in there. Might as well be a perfect wall, there's no way lings can beat that fighting one at a time.
