    i played this one game that i know how i lost but there is no way i should have lost. my economy and probe count were so much better than him. he came at me with 5 reapers and i had 6 zealots and more coming. he kited my zealots to death so much they didnt even get to touch his reapers. if i could have stop that little rush i had such a big resource advantage it would have been gg but i dont know what i could have done better.(probably my micro but zealots have no range)

    You shouldn't be proud of a good economy against a rush because you failed to adapt. And it wasn't your micro because you can't make zealot run faster :p

    You need to scout a rush and quickly tech to stalkers... even 1 is enough to at least delay their rush proper until you have another out.

    first off
    thats not a rush! one or two is a rush :p you should have a sizeable army by then
    second, its about stalkers! get one out fast because like you said
    zealots without charge suck in PvT, every terran unit is ranged! your army should be sentry stalker that early in the game

    thanks, thats what i thought.

    i did scout and saw him having two barracks with tech labs so i kinda knew what was coming. instead of going stalkers i got a engineering bay and a forge for some reason. at the time i had 150 gas so i could have had 3 stalkers and have stopped the rush and then countered for a gg or teched up and our resourced him. o well, learned something for next time.

    Against terran ALWAYS GET A QUICK STALKER.
    Of course, unless you know they're rushing you.

    Agreed. Don't even bother with zealots in early game against terran. Always go straight for stalkers.

    try and get your cybercore up ASAP, and get your stalker in. Dont even bother with zeals, unless you have charge.

    Yeah, even if he doesn't go reapers, zealots are no match for upgraded marauders either( they slow+kite them easily)

    noob friendly mini guide on how to stop a reaper rush,

    Pylon at 9
    use probe from 9 pylon to scout terran
    if you see 2 gas you know hes going reapers, you can also tell by his tech labs at rax
    13 gate
    get gas as soon as gate starts building
    CC soon as gate is done, usually around 16
    stalker
    18 pylon
    stalker
    gate

    you have just stopped ureself from getting reaper rushed.

    Obviously as everybody has mentioned, stalkers are the way to stop a reaper rush. It doesn't hurt to throw down a cannon near your mineral line. Also, blocking your ramp is unnecessary against Terran in most instances so you can warp in your buildings close to the nexus, which makes it harder for your opponent to micro the reapers and take out probes. That might have allowed your zealots to get in close and take out the reapers.

    My 2 cents: Scoutin has been done..you have made the wrong choice by not building a CC first...

    Happens to me all the time...it's a scouting thing. Based on what you see in his base at that moment. (I have a probe Shift click Patrol his base untill his units are ready).
    Sometimes you just got out of your flow and mess up your precious time in the beginning. This first time to build is crucial to what happens in the next minutes...duh.

    But @ beginning of the game reapers are not the strongest units in the field, so you can also try a mass probe attack if not to many reapers...Reapers are mostly used to havoc your workers...so you should be aware of that.. I know you are. This will not work if his micro is good, but hell you have to try everything at that moment.
    In my last match having this problem it worked out due to the fact I had so many workers, they attacked surrounding the reapers, allowing the zealots to do the rest.

    Also blocking your workers by using a smart base lay-out might give you some extra time...maybe squeeze out a PC near your Nexus..instead of waiting for CC/Stalker. Cause you got your Forge allready.

    You can guess where your opp is coming from looking at your rafts. Make sure these are guarded by at least a Stalker, sentry will also work..if you allready have 2 assimilators even better imo.

    Get 1 or 2 cannons near the mineral line while getting stalkers.
    stalkers are key to stopping reaper rushes.

    Guys, cannons need a forge to build and the point of a reaper rush is to have the reaper in your base fast.... You can either pick cybercore or forge, and cybercore is the way to go against terran...

    Generally when playing against terran going for 2 gates is almost never the right choice, since stalkers and sentries are both essential units against early terran pushes. Zealots are very easily kitable by terran bio, so you will need sentries and stalkers to deal with pretty much anything the terran might throw at you. Which leads to a cybercore being pretty mucht eh optimal choice against terran.

    So, just open with cyber core, get a stalker out and that pretty much shuts down early reaper harass.
