Protoss Firepower Showcase

Just to share a video recorded during GC2007, not sure have you guys seen this. Protoss is pro war3 korean player known as Moon, vs a hard computer. I think the AI is not fine tuned yet, but this video showcases protoss late game power nonetheless (for those who think protoss is weak lategame).

Ooooh, Silvery Warp Rays. I never saw this new version ever since the golden one was changed.

 

I dig the new building animations.
And I definateley dig the circles that actually show the AoE when a spell is cast

 

this was posted long long ago, or if it wasnt it should have been because ive seen this a ton.

 

I found the colossi's death animation at 6:48-6:50 interesting. It gets hit by a turret and blown sky high.

Also thats a good look for the Protoss even if it may have been the saturation or whatever since it was recorded from a camcorder.
Liking that Warp Ray model.

At first I thought it was the video on youtube where Moon plays Protoss but it wasn't.

 

It is indeed played by moon. The one in youtube is unfinished version I guess.

It must be the 2nd time moon playes, because he also played at Blizcon (with video, but a limit of 1 MS, so therefore we know it isnt that video).

 

I hadn't seen this video either and it certainly beat most of the Q&As that came out lately. It seems that the camera will be fully customisable and that the Colossus can't step over small buildings (which I hope has been changed since then).
As with Gassy, this was the first time I've seen the DT themed Warp Ray and I like it - although there isn't much to not like on it.

Also, this must've been on fastest game speed... horrible. I mean I'm no fan of 2 minute battles between 4 units ala WCIII but this was way too fast (for me).

 

Yeah IMO it was to fast, but the enemy had like no units

 

Um furrer I am 99% sure this si from blizzcon because so far that has been the only public showcase were a player could have more than 1 MS. Also its been the only public demo at all.

 

Dude wth? The colossus can walk over cliffs but it can't walk over a pylon? Wtf is up with that.

 

This is incomplete and the video shows SC2 when it is not in its beta state yet, only the final state of the game changes everything

 

i hope they fix that because that is uberly retarded.

 

Was you able to have +1MS at that time?
And the one from Blizzcon looks different.

 

He did say that public showcase has only been allowed to have more than 1 MS, right now its back the usual 'kick butt' style again which almost everyone are happy with

 

It just now occurred to me that SC2 is the single sexiest RTS in existence. I mean, I have games that, when I saw their effects, I freaked out, but the beauty and diversity of the Protoss weapons is on another level entirely. It simply blows other games out of the water.

 

I can't agree with you no more, SC2 looks so damn good and looking at the Protoss certainly has the looks and the Terran certainly has the usual sc style, why argue about such a game?
