The reason the high protoss revered Adun was because of lies created by the conclave to hide their true conflict with him. But the Dark protoss always knew he was the first of their kind to master the void, the one who thought the dark templar all they knew. We know that a few factions are opposed to the joining of light and dark protoss society, and the truth about Adun is probably wide-spread now. I can image this coming as one heck of a culture shock. Maybe they will just believe that the dark templar are spreading lies about their beloved hero.
Even protoss should not discuss politics and religion. Since there's no one alive from back then (except, perhaps, Krythkal) and the preservers are in hiding, presumably they have to accept that the legends are simply different.
Actually, Raszagal had personally interacted with Adun during the fights with the rogue protoss. She was slightly over the average age protoss become, and it's not hard to imagine there being others like her who had met Adun during their lives
Krythkal was one. But he's really old, too. Raszagal was going senile (her control over her powers began to slip, sounds like senility to me), and she was the same age or even younger than Krythkal. Furthermore, Krythkal is a secluded Dark Templar. Why would the other factions even listen to him?
I'm not solely talking about those two. From what I understand, they are old, but not ancient, like the equivalen of 85 year olds. Should be a lot of those still around.
Yeah, on Aiur, where they got Zergling rushed in their retirement homes... But seriously. The Motherships served as outposts until recently, from what I understand. Maybe some of the scholars in the crew are really old, and then obviously came back into a severely changed Protoss society. That might have some impact, in my opinion. Seems quite plausible with the current lore. Then again, I got a massive headache, so it might just be rambling as usual.
The Brood War manual was clear that protoss like Raszagal are rare and she was one of the oldest around. Also, if she was going senile, she wasn't 85 year old equivalent. More like 100.
Raszagal: 'I am one of the few dark templar that remember our ancestral home with clarity.' (Third protoss mission of brood war). Any of the Dark Templar should have at least seen Adun in person, as it was he who protected them when they first entered the xel'naga vessel.
No they wouldn't have. Raszagal was the equivalent of a teenager at the time. Most of the Dark Templar would have been older... and would have died before the Brood War. A few would have been really young children, and would hardly remember Adun at all. (Don't forget, protoss reproduce slowly, so you shouldn't expect there to be lots of children.) We're talking 1000 years here.
Raszagal herself said that there were others amongst the Dark Templar who remembered the homeworld (see quote in previous post). Any DT who remembers the homeworld should have met Adun at least once, possibly twice. And then there is the fact that the traditional DT greeting seems to be 'Adun thought it us'. That ought to tip people off.
Yeah, her and a few others, seeing how she was near the end of her life. As said before, most Dark Templar who saw Adun would have died of old age by now. As for the Dark Templar line -- Adun delivered us -- the Khalai could easily dismiss that as propaganda. After all, very few living Dark Templar even saw him, and could have been "fooled" by their history teachers.
