I always wondered how the protoss talked in starcraft since they don't have mouthes. And how the humans and other species could understand them. Does anyone know?
Yeah. Protoss can sense emotions and thoughts in other creatures and send messages back and forth via telepathy. This makes them able to talk to humans because a human hears a message rather than a language. I believe protoss modified their communication technology to render thoughts into human language at some point to communicate via comm link, but I am not precisely sure of this.
