    void ray really effective against battlecruiser? it does... from the 1st battle report....

    but in battle report (1), protoss unit has insanely high HP.

    Now BC HP is 600 + defensive matrix.

    from the video against the zerg, 8 X warp ray need to fire 2-3 full rounds to kill one Ultralisk, and BC is even worst.

    If some BC armed with missle barrage, which side would be killed 1st? (I think it wont be as easy as the 1st demo, 4 X void ray destory BC in 1 fire round, killed 4X BC without losing 1)

    and Phoenix, 6 X 2 dmg against air?..... no bonus against armored unit (Wiki)... what's the purpose except rise the ultralisk and thor into the air.... it doesn't look like an anti- air unit to me, instead it looks like an anti- heavy ground unit.

    and of coz.... I guess no one would consider carrier and mothership are good anti air.

    If anyone has update info about this, tell me ^_^ thx

    yeah well, I've been wondering about this also. Void ray doing progressive damage, if the BC has 3 armor, then what's left?

    Well, anyway, I don't think it's the problem of the void ray being too weak (HP or damage wise), it's rather the BC that is wayyyyy too strong (yup, 600hp + matrix).

    Phoenix seems pretty useless to me too, but maybe it has a higher rate of fire than the viking? It was made to counter it, so in a way, in 1v1, phoenix should prevail. At least to my mind.

    I recall the BC having a base armor of four from SC1 so if they transferred that stat it should still leave the BC 1point of def. + the upgrades researched. I have to agree that the BC will be ridiculously intimidating here in SC2 being able to possess the ultimate defensive skill will grant it one of the best offensive threat for terrans.

    I think that the current phoenix is weaker compared to SCBW scout/corsair... in terms of functionality, I couldn't find much use for the graviton beam other than picking up big chunks of threatening units like the colossus/thor/ultralisk, which isn't that bad, but could have been more. If it were to get an amplified graviton beam, I think it would be better if they would allow the anti-g beam to levitate minor structures like the supply & defense structures for all races. In that way, it can be an asset to make one in especially if you got turtle enemies. Aside from that, I think all protoss air units are fine.

    Tricky Q: Can the Ground mode viking fire back against a phoenix if he gets levitated in air?

    From what I know, levitated units are unable to fire back, so I think it does not matter if the foe can hit air or not.

    That being said, how nuts would it be for a phoenix to levitate a foe, then to get killed because the foe can fire while being levitated and the phoenix cant fire back (because incapacitated by the ability)?

    well I do love the graviton be, it sounds fun since I can just rise the queen, thor, and ultralisk and kill them in the air....

    but still, i don't see protoss' anti air unit, no matter it is heavy air or light air, lol... I don't know but look at Phoenix's dmg output, it is pretty much a joke, and its expensive, unlike corruptors.... Phoenix is pretty costy to build

    and on the other hand, look at BC's skill, defensive matrix and missile barrage both are very good anti air skill, 3 waves of missile barrage can take out the entire grp of void ray, and not to mention about the shield, can void ray really fast enough to kill BC? I don't think so...

    ok fine then.... what's left for anti air..... stalker? and don't ask me to use archon to AA (lol that is sucide).

    yup I do have the same concerns ... I remember someone pretending Disruptors were an effective air counter .... just LOL :)

    (won't quote him though, he often gets carried away over and over for pages and pages until you get confused and forget your original question :p)

    By the way, if HT's phase shift works on all units, including air, that "could" be some sort of "soft" counter...

    I read up to this post and ganked myself at the first paragraph. well now that i've respawned from the command center for the cost of 50 minerals, here is the rest of my post....

    first off.......4 armor.....dude.....thats the carrier -.- bc had 3 armor.
    to me, the bc really seems overpowered.it should still be massable, at least more than the mothership. right now, it does basically same damage, -200 hp (made up by def matrix), more armor......gahh......

    @the first post, phoenixes cant pick up thors/ultra/colossi.
    too tired to post more...

    I think I should also point out that the viking is much more expensive than the phoenix (wiki), so therefor it sould be more powerful than the phoenix too. Strange, isn't it, since in tradition terran units are cheaper then the protoss...

    Viking needs a HP buff (maybe 25). its dmg output is very high (triple to phoenix) against large target like BC, corruptor has nothing to complain.... 200HP lololol

    and as for carrier, I wonder who is gona build it, ya 4AC, but almost any air units can counter it, and if u add the interceptors price, it is even more costy than BC, not to mention it has no special skills. If I send out such expensive unit but can be eatten by anything, what's the point?

    I just feel this game still incompleted in many ways, terran, zerg got problems too, Protoss just one of it.

    SC2 is already too SC1

    Bliz doesnt want to give up many old things in this game, but doesnt know how to fit new stuff into it.... now.... stuck

    carrier itself is not really necessary unit, the interceptor is just a form of attack, bliz can just combine it with mothership straight away (dmg output is very close anyway, and it wont be overpowered at all)

    as for terran... Thor... Siege tank... hunter seeker missile..... well ya they are not 100% the same... but don't you think it is too much?

    siege tank is very different from thor. siege tank is a SIEGE unit, while the thor is a spearhead. hunter seeker missile gives strategy, carrier is not "necessary".....in lore, they use it as capital headquarters for protoss commanders but blizzard is apparently changed it and possibly nerfed it so that it doesnt feel like the almighty carrier anymore

    i'm 550% definitely in agreement with you.

    Of course it's too much. Well I just think removing the Thor is going to solve many balance problems. Too bad "Blizz who knows it all better when it comes to balance" absolutely wants Terrans to be mega-transformers LOL. Looks at Terrans huge HP and damage output + AoE + abilities. I mean they have much more than any other race.

    Well anyway, I would have been perfectly happy with Starcraft 3D.... this SC2 is leaving me speechless. I know too many people who won't be playing random anymore if they play SC2 (80% of them told me they were SC1 zerg lovers but would play Terrans in SC2.

    Some questions are never meant to be answered....

    I dont think so that terrans explosiveness is too much,.. rather think of it as what humans have always been, a bang. Logically that's how we make things work, if we want to get rid of something we do it with a bang. The very symbol of power in human tech. Gameplay-wise I think its rather a sense of discrimination for the zerg is what most players are getting at when we compare how flash and cool the upgrades have been for the other 2 races. At the bottom of the line it all traces back somehow to the question why was glory improperly distributed among the 3?

    I think you are somehow being a traitor to yourself being a human.... hahaha you know you want to blast someone because you know its the most efficient and safest way to do so. Bang Bang Bang!

    I think u misunderstood... I mean there are too many area AOE skills... and there is no point to give 3 units the same thing. you can just give the siege range to thor and turn it into a siege robot, then u can just remove the tank straight away. Ok let me ask u one thing when u strike an enemy base, if u already have a thor, do u wana build a siege tank as well? is Siege tank a MUST in this situation? I dont think so, I just rush the thor in and nuke out the entire town that's it.

    yes as I said at the very begining, all 3 untis are different. but the difference is not very obvious.

    2nd thing... Lore is something u can make it up, it is very up to the storyteller, and you don't need to use a story to buff or nerf a unit. in the Lore the protoss capital ship can take out entire squa of battle cruises, but can it do that? no, carrier no match to BC all time, couple yamato cannons it flies to the heaven.

    Well I know i'd buy it, and I know I'm not the only one.

    I for one, think the Thor has no reason to exist in SC2. It overlaps other terran units, while being far superior in terms of weaponry and HP. This has been discussed in a very comprehensive way in many threads so I'm just going to state the "obvious". In any case, I already know Niceshadesnick loves Thors - if not already a Terran player - so I wouldn't expect less from his reaction.

    In fact, I do not favor any race, I have always liked playing Random - though Zergs were very fun. Anyway, regardless of my preferences, I'd say if SC2 keeps going the way it does, most players will play Terrans. :D
    And I wouldn't want a game in which 80% of the gamers would play Terrans because they have such an obvious advantage over the 2 races.

    Hell I would love to buy a SC1 with sc2 graphics!!!

    I think thats why I'm so disapponted in SC2 because I want it to be more like SC1,
    Where there were no super destruction unit, like the Thor or mother ship, I think I would like SC2 to be a huge expansion pack.

    Aka add a few new units, add awesome graphics and put awesomeness in the editer like they have now.
    If SC2 keeps going the way it does, I'm going to find a way to only use the SC1 units in the editer and add in some other units that look cool to me, then play it over and over.

    Basicly if I were to make SC2 that's all that I would do. And what's up with the massive wepons of death? I mean come on SC1 was a you have strenght in numbers and each race is awesome in there own ways. Now in SC2 it's become a either rush (do or die strat) or turtle and expand asap then get "hero" unit and get like 20 extra "unneeded backup" and go attack the enemy.

    Yup... what he said! SC1 3D would have rocked and posed no balance issue at all :D

    But seriously, a Protoss War Airpplane doinf 6x2 dmg? What the.....

    Bring either the Scout or the Corsair back (or both) but not a version like the Phoenix that is weaker than these two in term of everything (dmg, HP, shield and abilities).... The Scout AA was awesome, even though it was less used than corsair.
