Project Revolution Nearing Completion

 Project Revolution has announced the release of their WC3 StarCraft mod demo!  This is some pretty big news for StarCraft players who have been playing with 2D sprites for a few years. While this release may be coming a bit late, and hopefully the release of SC2 can be hoped for within a year and a half, this is a welcome addition to StarCraft fans everywhere. Be sure to follow the directions laid out by SnowFlake Entertainment very carefully as it seems the demo is a bit difficult to install and only the Terran and Zerg are functional in any fashion at the moment. But if you're a Terran player or a very experienced Zerg player this should be a lot of fun! Check it out and download the WC3 mod here! 

 

About time. It's been long enough in the making. I just can't believe they finished this when SC2 was coming out.

 

yeah, talk about a bad time to finish it lol

looking at the screen shots they provided, this looks a tad cheezy. really it dose.

 

Anyway should the release be for one year or more I just want Blizzard to take "its time" to create a wonderful games. I have been waiting for ten years to have SC2, so one year or more is nothing for my eyes.

yeah you right. I'm not rushing blizzard what so ever and anyone who is not the smartest tool in the toolbox my friend. i dont wanna make the snowflake team sound bad, ( and i can see they worked hard) but this cant even be held to the glory of SC2.

The video is from the early build.. now it has better gfx (a little) . Still, it's a big big project and, let's admit, it looks very good.

 

that video clip was the worst thing i have ever layed my eyes on. i'm sorry the voice overs were enough to make me cry. the medics and hydras look bad. Dont get me started on the zerglings cause they were beyond any word i could find to discribe them. The maker would of had a better time just using purple fel stalkers, those zerglings looked like an ostrage or flamingo on crack.....

 

well even if you seem to be register in those forums long before me, you dont read them at all!

i dont care buildind pr by just posting something that i havent veryfy its dates first, all of as post again news that are not so "fresh" but this is months Ago and if you wanna learn something it was posted HERE in those Forums and i have been hosting the demo for months over my server.....

so before you critisie others and not posts, think twice next time.

i dont have anything againt John on the contrary i admir his work, but this should be remembered since Cristmas and if someone wants to repost it dont use the word NEW is a Reminding, not NEW.

the Project Revolution is abandoned from there crators the time the demo was released cause they couldnt fit all stracraft abilities in Warcrafts engine 100% and they turned it to something like, open source project mode, and now everyone that has the skill and passion can help to finish (if ever) this VERY promissing MOD.

I was under the impression that the Zerg's functionality was a new addition...

Well I believe I found this and posted the thread before but someone said this is old news so I deleted it, it was finish in 07 close to Jan.1/08.

 

interesting, it seems ill have to reinstall WC3 and TFT. I hope its good, but a good pat on the back for the snowflake team for making this.

Anyway, I have a question. I have downloaded this and now I'm trying to install the mod, but it doesn't work properly. I have to type the path of the game directory in this dos-like screen, which I did correctly. Then it says that my Starcraft CD isn't in the CD-drive?

Can anyone post a link to some kind of manual? It would be much appreciated by me and probably others, too.

 

You actually have to have the SC CD in the CD-drive Fo®Saken. (not broodwars)

Why would you need that CD, it's an expansion to Warcraft!
Or does it use the sound files or something from StarCraft? (which would be lame)
