Problems in Adding a Friend (Not receiving any Friend Request)

Dear Forum,

I have been encountering the following issue:

I have a friend of mine, living in the USA (I live in Europe), and we've been trying to add each other as friends, but we are not receiving each others' friend requests.

I did not have any trouble in adding friends located in Europe. It's the first time that I encountered this issue and I'm thinking that it is a location problem, where people who live at opposite sides engage in difference servers and hence cannot add each other as friends.

Anyone knows of a solution to this (if any?) or has heard about this issue on the net?

Yeah, unfortunately you can't. The European version of the game (and the BNet Servers) are different than the US version.

A friend of mine who lives in Dubai and uses the European version of the game was here for a week and I had to hook him up with one of my friend "x amount of play time" codes so we could play together. Additionally he had to be on the US install using a different SCII profile (same BNet account).
