Problem with missions Devils Playground and Cutthroat

    On these missions, I am disallowed from building SCVs, marines, or anything other than hoverbikes and Reapers. After the mission, all characters on the ship are covered by opaque black ovals. Understandably, this ruins cutscenes. It also claims that the only missions I have completed are these two. My save files disappear, unless I go back to main menu, and then all progress from either mission's start is deleted.

    Please help, I am actually stuck now if I cannot either bypass or complete these missions.

  2. I also am having trouble with devils playground, although I simply cannot play it, the game crashes a few seconds in and I am forced to hard restart my computer. I have not gotten to cuttthroat yet but this does concern me that it will not work as well. Using windows 7 professional and ATI 4670 video card, with updated drivers.

    Any clues? Will the repair tool help?

    I have the same problem with the Moebius Foundation (which is a bit further into the game).

    I have an ATI Radeon 2600 and Windows XP... much less advanced tech. And where is this repair tool?

    I'm having the exact same problem. On my first time playing The Devil's Playground, I was able to play for maybe 3-5 minutes before it froze and I had to hard-restart my computer. I've tried numerous times to play that mission and it only keeps freezing even quicker. So quick now, infact, that I did not have time to type in the cheat, "there is no cow level" to simply cheat for victory. I was able to type "there" before it crashed. Literally didn't last 2 seconds haha.

    Cutthroat worked better and only froze once, but perhaps I just got lucky. All my drivers are up-to-date and I'm not stupid about anti-virus or firewalls messing with the game and it's only this mission so far. Repair tool didn't fix it at all. Running on Windows Vista 32-bit with an ATI Radeon HD HIS 4670 video card.

    Repair didn't work for me, and I only get a few seconds to skip. Does anyone know the level skip cheat?

    Ya i just finished both missions with just the units it was letting me, and now i have the opaque bubbles in place of the characters in the bridge screen, and the bottom buttons to move to the other parts of the ship are gone as well, I've looked in other forums but so far haven't been able to find an answer to fixing it. Has anyone managed to fix this problem? and if so please don't keep it a secret...

    System specs Dejanus, please. Can't begin troubleshooting unless we have an idea of what we are troubleshooting. :/ I haven't heard of people hard locking with ATI drivers so far, but just for kicks you could always try adding:

    frameratecap=60
    frameratecapGlue=30

    to your variables.txt file (found in your documents then StarCraft II folder)

    I need to stop helping people tonight and actually try to play some more... I'm running SC2 on a Intel 995 onboard. lol

    Maybe its a general memory issue, as I've seen a few people that seem to be suffering from what appear to be noticeable memory leaks where the speed slowly decreases until its nothing.

    I had the same problem in Devil's Playground : game froze only after a few seconds.
    The workaround I found was to put graphic settings to "Low", then I could finish the mission without any problem.

    System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with PowerColor ATI HD 4670.

    Here is a good question? Were any of you trying to force FSAA on with StarCraft 2? ATI has just released a 10.7a beta driver that is supposed to solve a FSAA bug in StarCraft 2, so perhaps it might do other things as well. You ATI guys might as well give it a shot.

    I had this happen on Maw of the Void several times in a row. It kept going faster and faster.
    What I did was saving the game with a new save, exit the entire game, and continued again. After that it stopped crashing.

    Well heres an update, whatever blizz released in there patch today fixed all issues i was having with graphics/opaque cicles and slow downs/hiccups, I don't know if this patch fixed things for other people but all of a sudden things work great and i couldn't be happier :). Thanks to everyone for their responses and a big thank you to Blizz for being on top of this problem so quick lol.
