I recently found my Starcraft CDs again (they were presumed lost for good ;D) but I have a problem installing. The installation halts at the beginning because a file named StarDat.mpq is supposed to be missing. The cds are in good shape and I have a valid CD-key. Anyone knows what this is and how it can be solved?

I'm not sure if this will fix your problem but you should try. (these are alternate installer programs from Blizzard)

For starcraft go to http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/StarCraft/patches/PC/ and download InstFix.exe

    And for broodwar download BwIFix.exe

Wait a minute, StarDat.mpq is supposed to be missing? Hmmm... Anyway I think the solution here is to just wipe and clean your install discs. Try it and let us know what happens!
