Possibly the most badass thing in SC2?

Has anyone tried mining a high yield through a nydus worm? I know I have on scrapstation and such It's quite the hassle but boy does it look awesome on replays

Just wanted to see if anyone else has used the nydus to mine before

 

Haha I have for experimentation, you have to make sure to set rally points for effective farming. Or atleast when I tried.

 

I'm so going to have to try this.

 

It's great for when you wanna sneak a quick high yield.

 

does that involve a lot of microing or does it work on auto? and i love to see a replay

You have to set the rally point to the gold minerals and back in. Then pop them out return go back in. It's about rally points.

 

I remember seeing one of the Youtube shoutcasters put up a little tutorial on how to do this.

It doesn't work anymore. It's been a few months, but if memory serves the workers always try to return back to the hatchery now, making the amount of micro required to do it insane and very impractible unless your opponent is sitting around with their thumbs up their butt.

 

Even if you need to micro it, it could be worth it for a one time mineral boost during heavy Macro. Not a Zerg Player whatsoever but I can still see the value in the concept, that is if the Nydus is part of your overall build, I don't think it'd make sense purely for mining....

its pretty sneaky, but I've caught enough people trying to do it by scouting their main base, and seeing the yellow minerals being gathered.

Often enough I wait at the high yield out of vision and wait till most of the drones have gotten out of the nydus at the high yield and i kill them all.
