I think that most of present pro-gaming stars will stick with Brood War, because they invested too much to it. They will not be interested in replaying their success in SC2. European, American will have bigger influence in SC2, but it's a big possibiltity that Koreans will support both games in their professional leagues. ::)

Since the korens put so much time into the game, I beleve many will add sc2 to thier arsenal of games. Many will still play sc, but many will also learn how to play sc2, and millions will watch them both.

I just randomly came up with that answer, hypothitically, more would come to see the better graphics. Realistically, people would see whatever game thier idol plays on; if they decide to play sc2, it will be a big hit, if not, it won't be a popular as sc1.

There's lots of games with advanced graphics today, but that doesn't make them play SC any less.

Main key of SC success in Korea is their tv shows translating non-stop different leagues matches. So let's think - if Korean kid watch SC match in channel one and then see SC2 on channel two, which game he would like to see?

Kids might want to switch to the SC2 channel, but I think that a lot of older people will prefer SC1 for various reasons.

    Here's an example

For older fans, they will tend to lean to whichever game thier sc idol will play. I don't think all legendary korean players will play sc2, but most of them will.

People that root for thier favorite player will watch and play the game that they do. If they stick with sc1, the fans would most likely do the same. If they move to sc2, the same thing will most likely accur.

I wont let those crafty basterds win this time. I will donate my life and all hours i can into destroying any unlucky punk who enters my games. I will micro and macro my enemys into the ground and smile while doing it.

SC2 is set out to be the most competative RTS in the gaminng world. I believe that A LOT of War3 players and 99% of non-korean SC1 players are waiting for SC2 to come out.

I also think there will be a lot of leagues outside of korea(see war3 leagues). So i think SC2 will surpass SC1 in terms of popularity and chance to go pro playing the game.

I dont think korean people dominate war3 or WoW, i think they are pretty good at it, but nowhere near as dominating.

I think when you give a good enough opportunity for euro/us or any gamers to make a living out of playing the game, with a lot of tournaments leagues you will meet a much more competative environement. So i dont think koreans will dominate SC2 as much as they did SC1.

I say Nay! Since this is a new sequel we might have a chance to dominate and it seems more people throughout the world will try to dominate this game something like WC3

I'm not so sure anymore, I voted yes based on what I see right now and the probable release date of SC2. Mainstream gaming in China, Western Europe, and North America is growing at a break neck speed, but I don't think they can catch up to Korea in time. Without the support of media and audiences it's still hard for people in the said countries to become full time SC2 professionals, and therefore it will take a lot of innate skill to even come close to Korean pros who can dedicate the time to play SC.

I know about Korea pro gamers a little, check my VOD's topic in SC1 Maps and Replays subforum ;)

About Chinese : I'm sure they will own Korean gamers one day, they jerk with games like WoW from morning till night. There will surely be players better than Boxer from 1 billion nation. :gossip:

Whatya guys talkin about? When SC2 comes out, South Korea won't even exist anymore! North and South Korea will join as one and show the North Koreans how to use computers complete with SC and make a Blizocracy....rule by Blizzard, in fact, they'll even change their name to Aiur :)
