    note: air superiority fighters are pheonix, muatlisk and predator, the question concerns only these units, not other air units such as BC and carrier.

    notice how the scouts in sc1 beta used to swerve and bank as they flew around. why did blizzard remove this from sc1 proper and is it good to have this feature in sc2?

    i would like to see a video of this

    maybe they should try it in SC2 beta?

    but if the blizzard guys can give a good rationale, i'd ask no further questions

    I agree. I think it would look awesome and really add more to the visual aspect of the game. It shouldn't have an effect on gameplay, but I'm sure if Blizzard came up with something cool for it I wouldn't mind.

    anyone notice. the stargate they have in the beta looks like the stargate in starcraft 2. nice.

    yeahh that´s exactly wath i was gonna say! i don´t mind it, its a cool concept but now... it shines lol.

    that feat about the asf was cool, i dont know why they removed it, but at least for me, it gives the game a little more "action", in that picture its like the scout is avoiding an enemy misile or something like that, so it could make the game more fun than just bringing your units next to your oponent´s and watch as they fight like old naval units, site to side until the other one dies, this is the kind of animation that i would love to see, but also i think a backfire of this is that the gameplay would be too confusing, since the angle of the camera is really close, and there are a lot of colors, flashes, beams and what not, i at least could get easily lost :S lets just remember that the game isnt nearly finished and blizzard is an amazing company, im sure there will be quite a few cool concepts waiting for us.

    does any one have a suggestion why blizzard removed this feature in the retail version od sc1?

    Probably was too much graphic and chaos generation for most computers to handle.

    yeah, i remember computers in 97/98 were like Pentium 133mhz 16mb RAM
    this shouldn't be a problem now

    actually i think this and more dodge capacity should be added in SC2. i hated how it was always an insta hit even if the unit had moved from the area actually shown to be hit by the attacking unit.

    how would you be able to micro your flyers if they were jumping around the screen all the time lol.

    It would looks awesome if they add this.
    But i don't know how this will work. Imagine how they would turn from left to right. I mean, when you command a predator to go to left, it does. And while it's flying to the left, you suddenly command it to go right. Then it would make a very BIG BIG swing before it can move to the right.
    It would be cool if Blizzard can make this, without affecting the gameplay.

    i don't think it'll affect micro, you can implement it in a way that the fighters don't automatically move when you don't give it a command. they only swerve and bank when you tell them to turn

    Then it looks sorta dumb... You don't need to swerve and bank unless you're fighting if you do it out of combat then you're just wasting fuel and putting your body through needless g force. If you have to manually tell your units to do it then it makes micro a lot harder in that you have to manually keep clicking to make your unit dodge.

    well according to the poll most people thinks this feature shouldn't affect game play. that's my opinion as well however it's implemented it shouldn't affect micro.

    Mutalisk is technically classified as a tactical air unit instead of air superiority fighter, but I don't think it should apply to Zerg units anyway.

    Banking doesn't make any sense without an atmosphere, of course neither do winged multalisks or banshess but that's besides the point. The reason Earth craft bank is because they are using the atmosphere to turn themselves. In space there is no atmosphere so you can't bank to help you turn. Sure, physics has never stood in the way of Blizzard before but in most of those situations Blizzard ignored physics to make their games simpler. Why ignore the physics to make the game more complicated?
