As you all know, no-one really knows anything about the new Zerg units. However what we do know, is that Zerglings and Mutalisks are almost definitely returning. So, when thinking about the new Mutalisk, I thought it would be great for them to be able to shoot while flying through the air. It would make sense, because it is not mechanical so it wouldn't need to stop so that the guns can be fired properly, because it has simultaneous control over all of its bodily functions. I thought it would be a great ability, if not upgrade, for the Mutalisk so that it would be able to do quick strikes on the enemies bases while not having to stop moving to attack, which would leave it vulnerable to Anti-Air defenses. The Mutalisk doesn't appear to have any new ability yet, and we don't want it to just be exactly the same as StarCraft1.

What are your thoughts about it?

Nice work but yet I don't think it would suit , it is possilbe to be more realistic but in the original they didn't but alot of old unit's have returned with new abilitie's like the zealot has charge and alot of other unit's with new abilitie's so I am not exactly sure...poissible yes but I don't really want it to , but at the end of the day , I ain't fussed.

Yes I would most definately like that. It can also be achieved through upgrade but I certainly like the idea of Mutalisks able to do a "fly-by" attack.

Yes! , an upgrade will suit! , what should we call it? , anything other then fly-by? because that ain't the kinda thing blizzard would name the upgrade like that and how much? , maybe around...200 mins - 200 gas.

It could be named anything I just named it fly-by based on the phrase "drive-by".

@ coreyb. You liked Josh's idea of it being an upgrade, but I'd suggested that in the first post already.

Not sure what a good name would be. Maybe something to do with the Mutalisk's intelligence or co-ordination? Enlarged Frontal Lobe or Synaptic Co-ordination? Or maybe some generic Zerg upgrade, like, Enhanced Instincts, Peripheral Senses or Heightened Alertness. Just some random generic names I came up with, a bit of a mix and match. A thesaurus would probably come in handy.

In the original starcraft it is actually possible to do this, but it requires a lot of micromanagement. You have to attack a building (or unit) and as soon as the glave wurm launches, click where to go next and shoot at something else.

It was similar with Siege Tanks that are out of Siege Mode. Just have to keep on hitting 'stop' and instantly move them to where you want to go. It is possible to do, but it would be easier if it was automatic. Similar to the Cobra. I thought it would work well for the Mutalisk, but maybe it should be for another Zerg unit or something? Any ideas?

No, this idea is bad, only with a lot of microing this would make sense.
The Mutalisks are already very fast units, and if you were able to just let the Mutalisks circle around and attack (with waypaoints) AND be able to do other stuff at the same time, you would be almost invincible. (Since marines and stalkers can't keep up with the Mutas it would take some time before they died in SC1, but because you needed to keep controlling them you couldn't do much more at that time, this prevented the attack to become to powerfull. If this is to be removed it would be severely outbalanced.)

In that video it looked like the mutas fired while moving but they actually didn't they stoped for less than a second and the player was good enough to start them moving again in under a second.

I belive all air units should be able to fire while moving so long as they canpoint at the target. That beans a viking chasing a carrier would be firing as it followed it.

I thought of it as a compliment. ;D
It IS amazing what some people can do in videogames, but do not forget that they put hundreds of hours in practicing their skills.
