So I was just google-ing random questions that I had, just to learn random facts for random things, and for some reason I questioned on how many pokemon there were(I have only played Yellow and Crystal before stopping) and if they had any plans on making more, and I came upon this.

Currently there seemed to be 493 pokemon able to be caught, with plans on making more right now.

Apparently about 2 weeks ago the 5th generation of pokemon was confirmed and two pokemon were revealed.

After looking around for a tiny bit I find that the one on the left is :

    Name: Zorua
    Species: Evil Fox
    Type: Dark
    Height: 0.7m
    Weight: 12.5kg

And the one on the right :

    Name: Zoroark
    Species: Monster Fox
    Type: Dark
    Height: 1.6m
    Weight: 81.1kg
*Zoroark is to be featured in the upcoming Pokemon movie.*

Any thoughts on this? Any pokemon forms you pokefans are hoping for? Any loathing at Nintendo for why they keep mutating them? When will Nintendo stop making them? Anyone questioning if I am a lunatic?

I used to be a great Pokemon fan. Have a bunch of the games, one from each generation starting with Silver. It's getting REALLY annoying with the bajillion pokemans they have now. 151 is still the perfect number IMO. It just gets too confusing.

Look at Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy....Even though there's tens of them, the enemies are still the same!

i only play the classic (red, blue, yellow), and they were the BEST. After that it got too messy with too many Pokemons. Gold and Silver was alright.

    Gold/Silver was best.

My fav thing about Diamond/Pearl was they added more eevee forms, so I could finally have my dream of having a balanced eeveelution team(Leafeon is my second favorite form, with Espeon being 1st)

Both Kurai and I are going to get the gold/silver remake when it comes out soon.

Wonder how this new game they must be working on will be. Ruby/Sapphire was weak and Diamond/Pearl was a step in the right direction. So I hope the games get better. Having a s***load of different Pokemon doesn't affect me cuz I've never cared about the pokedex, even in the original R/B/Y.

A little while back I got a copy of Diamond just for the hell of it. I was overwhelmed at how stupid Pokemon looked with each generation, but it was still fun. Lately I've been considering getting FR/LG for the sake of getting a Bulbasaur (his evolution line has always been my favorite).

I also played a bit of Silver back in the day. Does anyone know if the remake is gonna let you get first generation starters? If so, I'll just skip FR/LG/

While i like the pokemon of the first and second generation best(there are some very cool ones in third too) I really like the newer games better(at least up until r/s and LG/FR, haven't played any later)

The 4th generation pokemon do indeed look stupid to me.

For the new generation i am hoping for some more type combinations, like ground/ghost and stuff.
Also, I hope that they actually try to make cool new ones again instead of just throwing in every odd idea.
And maybe some different type starters, but i say that every generation

Bah, pokemon. I've played only until Crystal and tried the first one with the dual battle system thing for a bit. Then it became to boring. I mean, it was just way to easy once I found out that a fully upgraded level 100 alakazam could basically 1-shot every single pokemon in existance.
