Well, I've finally started to read it (you'd think a pokemon fan like me would have read it a while ago), and it's shocking how different it is from the anime and games. Half the gym leaders work for Team Rocket and the Elite Four are evil as well. I actually wish the games were more like this, would give more incentive to beating them rather than just for the badge. Meanwhile, Team Rocket actually has some successes, like capturing the legendary bird trio. Red and Green(Gary) are just like their counterparts in the game. Blue is a mischievous girl who knows how to con and steal anything she wants. Meanwhile, Yellow has the ability to heal pokemon by touch and knows how to win fights without using offensive moves. And this is all from the first 40 mangas in the over 100 list the site im using has Now if only they made an anime version of the manga's story, would be more interesting that the current one. P.S. another thing I found out is that in the manga, eevee is able to evolve freely between the fire/water/electric forms, unlike in the games where it is forced to evolve into one form and being stuck with that form (or at least the one red has, due to some experiment teamrocket did to it)
I never finished my digimon v-tamer manga, so i think i'll postpone the pokemon mangas till after that. Always wanted to read them though. p.s. the digimon manga is quite awful. So bad it's hilarious
http://www.onemanga.com/Pokemon_Special/ This is the site I was using, unfortunately they're only part way through the gold/silver saga while the printed version of the manga is currently on the diamond/pearl saga. I havent been able to find anywhere that has the later issues.
