Hi im new to this forum website so idk if this is the right location to talk about this. If it isn't please let me know so i can repost it somewhere else. Anyways, ive been playing sc2 for about a month(never played sc1) and the point system is different from what other people are asking about If i win i usually get about 4-6points whether I'm slightly favored to favored or my opponent is favored or slightly favored. but if i lose a favored game then i lose all my points. i once had about 40points then i lost a favored game and lost all my points. usually when i read other people's thread it says they only lose about 10~12 points. Is there something im doing wrong?Please let me know! Thanks!!
There's a thread somewhere dealing with this issue but I can't find it thanks to our trusty search engine. I'll move your post in that one if I find it and maybe you'll get answers... I remember it has a few posts in it.
These are all guestimates but... Usually you against slightly favored / favored is like +20-46 points if you win and -3-15 if you lose. And when you are even the average scores I would say would be + or - 14-25. When you are favored over a team it's usually a small amount of points like +10-16 but you lose big like in the 20's and 30's. Of course you need to factor in your bonus pool though too. If it's big you get more points when you win and lose less points if you lose. So if you're loosing a bunch of points it's because you're losing to opponents you are favored over and you don't have much of a bonus pool to back you up...I think.
but i only get like 4-9points a game when im against favored or slightly favored and my bonus pool is like 850
I think it's quite the opposite. (in 1v1) (I replied to this in another thread as well) When I win I get 2-6 points even if the other player is favored over me. Yesterday I've lost to a player ranked 13 Bronze (my rank was 52 Bronze) and I lost 20 points. But strangely I was in a match with a gold player who left after a minute so it was a win for me, but still I got only 6 points.
I have no idea what your problems are then. Cus I've played in every single league except for Diamond and never had anything like that happen to me. You sure you guys arn't getting confused about whether you win or lose?
Apparently, this have something to do with MMR and rating. If you're in the lower ranks of bronze it will be extremely hard to get out since the MMR seems to have a negative value, so you will be favored almost every match(since your rating will always be higher than the negative MMR) meaning that a win gives you 6 point max but a lose will cost you 20+. The only way to fix this is to get your win ratio over 50%. If I had knew this before I would have been practising a lot more before going online. Currently I win a little more than I lose but due to the huge amount of losses when I started the game it will take me a long time to catch up and reach 50% ratio. (for 1v1 that is, never tried 2v2,3v3 or 4v4)
That seems to be what he's saying. That's porbably why I never had your problem as my ratio is always in the positive.
