PMs Spam

I haven't been on in a couple of months and so when I come on today, I found a couple of PM's. So naturally, I go to my inbox, and I get some messages. One says "Hello!" In the message it said something like "Hello friend, I found you on junaro.co" and the link is totally blank. It's pretty weird to get some random stranger to PM you with a link to a blank page. I open another PM. This one says to donate to cancer patients. Come on... this is a gaming forum, not a disease forum. The third one said that my computer had infectious viruses and gave me some link to something called check-pc.com. Obviously, I did not click it, I searched it in Google and found that it was a malicious site.

I'm just wondering. Is this happening to everyone? Or just a select group of people, in which I am unluckily a part of. It's really annoying and lame. Plus, who would spend their days making accounts on random forums just to message people with stupid stuff?
