So here's my problem, i live in the UK but i have friends in the US that i'd like to play SC2 with. Does this mean i have to buy a US version of the game and stick to US servers, or can i buy an EU game and change which servers i play on ingame?

    Thanks

As far as it is programmed right now by Blizz, you'd have to buy a US Copy of the game to play on the US Servers. Blizzard has stated that they may be changing that, but definatly will not do so in the near future. So if you'd like to play right now on US-Servers, there is no workaround. As far as i know you wouldn't be able to participate in US tournements even if you'd get your hands on a US-Gamekey, only the laddergames would work (and campaign).

The Australian/NZ versions of SC2 will work on the new Oceania data centre as well as the US ones. The only version able to access 2 different regions. So that's another option to get access to the US region.
