You should add "neither" to the poll. btw, make it Google fight vs nothing and see the outcome. It's pretty sad.
Digimon was stupid. Every name ended with the -mon suffix and the evolutions were ludicrous. how does this guinea pig-thing evolve into a winged knight?. Pokemon was good in the beginning, but by the time they got past 300 pokemon, they all started looking like robots. Also, the plot line is the same for many episodes: protagonist battles someone, loses, rethinks strategy, gets pestered by Team Rocket, goes back to rival, this time winning, Team Rocket is defeated, "blasting off again." Overall, I'd say earlier seasons of Pokemon are the better bet.
I agree with karee, i dont how how you can 'devolve' in digimon. Pokemon series 1and2 were good, but 3 on were just "Oh noes, team rocket! Nevermind, they forgot to make their balloon electricity proof! ooooh! what an awesome pokemon i could BUT I FREAKING WONT!!! catch."
ill make a summary good points bad points digimon more epic story weird evolutions darker storyline more challenging enemies more complex story more story diversity more character diversity better interaction with the mon's bad points weird evolutions more complex story couple of overpowered good guyys(also bad guys) darker storyline the farther the episode in the season, the more focused on the leader character pokemon good points has a viewpoint from more norma people more battle diversity simple story more battle balance bad points simple story lot of cliche scenes repetitive story im sure im forgetting something for pokemon, yes i know i said both unbalanced battles and more challenging enemies in the same sentence, it is either one or the other never neither one of them edit: damn vb for screwing up my construction
to me it is like this first season pokemon and digimon are equal second season pokemon beats digimon big time third season and every after that digimon beats pokemon
pokemon is more involved. at least in the first series you felt it, they finally managed to evolve, when ash saves charazard from freezing to death. to me digimon doesn't have that. the freaking animal things are digital and have to devolve back.
