Alright like everyone here I've had dozens of copies for StarCraft original but I just have few CDs that survived but no CD Key since it's been a long while and I just saved the CDs I didn't even think I'd want to go back to StarCraft. But since nostalgia is killing me I want to play the single player version (also to refresh my memory regarding the story line to prepare myself for SC2).

I went to Blizzard online store and bought the StarCraft Anthology (Digital Copy) they gave me a download file and CD Key (26 characters) but the .exe file gives me Authentication Error and I couldn't download the game digitally... Fine...

I got my old CDs and was really happy listening to the brief music and I clicked on Install then it asked me for a CD Key I then realized they ask for 13 characters CD key so the one I bought from Blizzard Online Store doesn't work.... GAAAAAAH!!!

I just want to play the freaking game as soon as possible. Can someone help me here? :(

    1) Delete everything SC related on your computer.
    2) Visit http://us.battle.net/?rhtml=y (battle.net)
    3) Sign in to your account. If you don't have an account create.
    4) Press ADD GAME and type in your CD key. Next, just download the installer from there.
5)The game will download itself where you have set the path. Install the game and if installer asks for CD key enter the one you entered on BNET.
    6) Play the game, no CD needed.

You SHOULD be able to DL digitally!!!

    Hello Lobsterlegs,

That's what I did the first time and I double checked it many times. The serial key is registered to my battle.net account and the game is there and I did download the .exe file from there three times. When I double click on the .exe file I get the "download is not autherized" error.

Use an Administrative account and also right-click on the executable and click "Run as Administrator".

If this fails, try and google the error, I'm sure you're not the only one with this problem.

They replied to me two days ago but they didn't help (run as administrator thing and waiting or redownloading the .exe file which I redownloaded 10 times already now). I still can't download the game. I replied back but I didn't get any answer.

There's nothing wrong with my computer for this is not the first time I use their download-launcher and this is not the first time I purchase a digital copy of a game. I think they have technical problems with their programs that keeps giving me "Download not authorized" problem.

I'm really sad that I wanted to play SC in the previous weekend and I couldn't. I paid for a product but I got nothing back, can they do that?!

Oh well, I ended up watching the "Let's play StarCraft" YouTube video.... *sigh*

    Thanks Spardas for the offer!

But first let me check the solution to the problem Fruscainte explained in his thread, maybe I can download the game!

I'll do that once I get back home.

Alright I just decided to try again and download the game. I double clicked on the downloader and to my surprise, no error message. I haven't changed a thing.. nothing. It just worked this time. I don't want to bother with the sudden change but I blame Blizzard Online Store!

    Anyway, I forgive them.... :D
