    mmkay, i need help with a certain effect

    lets say you have a solid box, then you put an outer glow effect on it so it looks like a solid box that glows with a certain color... now i want the solid box to be transparent but still keep the outer glow, i tried removing the solid box but if i did, the outer glow goes with it

    i need the solid area to be transparent but still keep the glow, isnt there any way around this?

    There is, you just need to reduce the fill to 0%. This is above the layers palette, below layer opacity.
