In the Blizzcon 2008 build, phase prisms have been renamed to warp prisms, and since we love polls, I thought I'd create one for this. Personally I don't like the change simply because it's a bit harder to pronounce the new name, especially if commentators will have to say it really fast in a hectic situation. Anyone know what was wrong with the original name?
Does this have to do with any "Dark Templar" stuff? Since they apparantly changed the Void ray to suit the look.
sounds like 'war prism' if you say it fast. i think phase prism sounded better, but warp prism is more clear on what it does and simpler.
The only thing I'd say this has in common with having more Dark Protoss would be that renaming the Warp Ray as the Void Ray allowed the 'Warp' to be free for another unit. Seeing as this unit helps to Warp In, etc, I guess they figured that Warp would suit more, only they couldn't use it at that time as there was already the Warp Ray, and having both a Warp Ray and a Warp Prism would just be weird. That's my take on it anyway.
The matrix is what the Pylons supply. I can't really imagine a unit being called a matrix. A matrix is basically a grid.
I don't know, that has a nice ring to it. Yeah Phase Prism is much easier to say. Isn't they already a Warp Ray/Warpray? Now THAT is confusing.
Nah, the Warp Ray was already changed to the Void Ray, which is probably what gave the go ahead for the Phase Prism name change, as having both a Warp Prism and Warp Ray would suck.
