?

Should units be able to step over Phase Cannons while they're submerged? (like Supply Depots)

Still, while they're in the flat to the surface, I don't understand why units can't walk over them.

No because they're not flat to the surface.

But i really loved the Phase cannon now in Starcraft 2 compared to the Photon cannon in Starcraft and Starcraft Broodwar, much better now.

    Peace

The Phase Cannons are on a rise, and frankly would you want to be the poor Zealot on the cannon when it powers up to fire.... i know i wouldn't want to be.

I am sure there are regulations related to that. Like an orange "DO NOT ENTER WHILE POWERED" ring. They should only be crossable of the cannon can be turned off

The point of the energy mode is so that you can move them around. I think the better solution would just be to move them, move troops past, and then move them back into formation. that way the enemy can't walk over them.

making a wall with phase cannons, first of all, is ridiculous UNLESS you plan on going all air or your playing a group of idiotic comps. now if your NOT planning on making a wall and just one or two phase cannons are in your way forcing your own troops to funnel out and get clogged, just change to energy mode and problem solved.

even the way the phase cannons look (say if it were realistic); its never flat on the ground: it reminds me of a smaller fountain. i think its pretty uncommon for people to step into fountains rather that around them and especially if the fountain contains some sort of radioactive plasma ;)

how far can the cannons move while in the energy mode thing? i dont know much about em... but from what ive heard, couldnt you actually attack with cannons? bring your army in, bring your phase cannons in and deploy them under the phase prisms energy field. phase prism? i forget what they're called, the flying transport dudes.

could make for some interesting strategies dont ya reckon? or am i way off par with this, ...

*EDIT ... i voted no. unless your a huge beast like the collosus, like freedom23 said.

while in energy mode, the phase cannons can move anywhere ON pylon range. what ur describing, as i'm reading, is possible but it would be like MEGA slow creeping if ya catch my drift. i suppose it can be useful when ambushing a base though.

actually, as stated in a recent Q and A, (10 i think) phase cannons can move outside of pylon power, but can only redeploy in a pylons range

corse not phase canons never go underground they flote there. and if you wanted to go over them you can just turn them into move them out of the way.

I thought that if the pylon was destroyed while they were in energy mode that you lost them (i.e. they died). Therefore wouldn't moving them out of pylon power would probably just kill them.
