Problem: My computer would randomly reboot with no BSOD at all when i am playing SC2. I have disabled windows to reboot when it fails but no BSOD at all. I have no issues at all while playing other games. Below is my spec: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 4086MB RAM Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 768 MB DirectX 10.0 MOBO: MSI X58 PLATINUM SLI(MS-7522) PSU: XION 630 W This reboot does not happen very frequently and this issue started about a month ago, I used to play on ultra setting with no problems at all. Things I have tried so far: Re-applied thermal paste onto CPU, Monitor for overheating, none observed, Change graphics settings from ultra to medium , no luck Changed memory from 6 GB to 4 GB and have been trying using 2 memory at a time , no luck RAM test is clean. ( One problem though, I can't ran ram test when all 3 memory sticks are plugged in, I had to test one at a time, tool used is Memtest86. When I run windows default RAM test, it's clean as well and I do not need to test one at a time) I am in the process of replacing all 3 memory sticks and my PSU as well. Any suggestions are appreciated
This is most likely due to over heating or the power supply outputting terribad voltages or amperages. Make sure video card speed is cranked when playing, and clean all dust from the case. If it still persists try a better power supply. Or use a DMM to check voltages first, if you have one.
