Path to StarCraft 2 Mastery?

I recently got Starcraft 2 after a long wait. I played the first game but in a very casual fashion and mostly centered on single player and games with friends. Now that I have the sequel, I find myself wanting to learn more and become better, at least enough to understand the core of the game and have some solid skills. I have no real intention of competing in big tournaments or being the best there is, but I enjoy learning the game and getting better.

The problem is that so far I haven't found a good, solid site where I can start from the very basics and progress through various skills, learning more as I go. Most of the sites and forums I have found so far are very disorganised and don't present any linear plan to improve. Sure, if I wanted the exact details on a "3 tank push" for terrans or a "3 gate robo" build for PvZ, I know exactly where to look. But why do they work, how they came about, why they are logical, how do you adapt to changing conditions, how do you choose an opener and a build order, all of that is fairly vague and not outlined clearly.

Well...May be you can read it here~

There is no real build order for everything. That is the truth. You scout to build the counter. There is so much to discuss about this game in order to actually get decent. The most I can tell you is to look at your replays and learn from your mistakes. Most guides will just tell you the basics of building units and countering other units, but skill comes from how well you adapt with every situation.

For example if your playing as terran, and this zerg has zerglings set up in the front of your base is ready to annihilate your wall with banelings and rush with zergling. The first thing you would do is to build heavier buildings behind your wall to hold it off such as bunkers or maybe more rax.

If you are able to always counter your opponent and completely dominate the map in economy then you will most likely win the game
If basics is what you want, then look at the sites race guides.

There is not a "path" mastery.
I guess I would say I am an average player in SC2 and a Hardcore player on SC1.
The thing is, and it actually works, play somebody who is better than you. Then watch replays. You will be able to see what were your mistakes and/or what you should have done. Also, you would be able to learn from the opponent(s).
Remember, play it over and over again, the game and the replays, will make you better.

Besides, I could tell what I would do (such as build order, units, and so on), but it will not work against all opponents due to the fact that we all play differently.
