Hi all Well firstly I can't believe after all this time there are so many issues with a game that clearly hasnt been tested correctly. I have just installed the game on my new laptop and am having major issues, and it wont even let me post on the official forums because I dont have an in game character set up yet!!! How can blizzard overlook that if you can't get into the game, you cant create a character therefore can't post on the tech support official forum !! Anyhow enough ranting i'm after advice. Firstly I was experiencing trouble as many others are trying to update the game. Like other people the game attempts to start, black screens for a second then comes up with the message an update is required, you click ok, it black screens for a few seconds that goes back to this message. Now I somehow got around that, when double clicking the starcrat 2 icon i then ctrl alt deleteed to enter task manager which seemed to open the updater screen. This then went to 100% after some time (and a few more freezes where i ctrl alt deleteing once more) Now the game loads up (finally) but it wont let me connect to battlenet telling me 'The game is awaiting a responsef from battlenet' and that my internet may not be working....welll the internet is fine, i've disabled my firewall, started the game as an admin (i'm on windows 7 , 64 bit btw) and no luck. Even if i try offlione mode it tells me to go to authorise my game client, which again i've done , activated my cd key etc. I did notice that the version number of the game is 1.01.1.16195 which i guess doesnt match the latest v 1.0.3 patch. It doesnt seemt to want to go to the update screen anymore though.....any suggestions? This is the first PC game i've bought in years mainly sticking to console titles, and now i understand why i this is the case. So much trouble JUST to play a game ! . I was REALLY looking forward to Diablo 3, but if its going to be anything like this I may just avoid it altogether! I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance
Oh if it helps heres a dxdiag file that provides info on my system...well it seems i can't post it as its 33.1 kb and size and the forums limit is 19kb ?
Okay, so your NOT behind a router or on a collage/university campus network? If your not, you can try this new solution that someone posted. If you are, have you forwarded all the ports correctly?
