Overmind ressurection

should the awesome overmind be back in starcraft? we know he died but its the overmind for gods sake he could come back. its better than kerrigan as a leader and it is completely nessacery to unite the swarm.

 

When many enough Cerebrates join/meld together, they may "give birth" to a new Overmind. They did this in BW, when Daggoth, leader of the Tiamat Brood, melded together with some lower Cerebrates and created the 2nd Overmind. Kerrigan killed it though (or rather Zer<3 did, on the order of Kerrigan). Well, if the Cerebrates were to join again, the Overmind could be "reborn". Although if you refer to the Old (1st) Overmind... he'll never be back, cause he was blasted to smithereens by High/Dark Templar energies.

Also, Kerrigan is technically an Overmind right now. Even before that she was considered a Cerebrate of the Swarm, as she had a personality and could exert influence over Zerg.

 

it'll be funny if we are an overmind in our own zerg campaign

 

How can there be starcraft without killing an overmind?

the overmind hsa to come back. yes, kerrigan was melded by cerebrates when she was captured, but she couldn't control the zerg, so she commissioned the protoss do kill it for her

 

you were a cerebrate before. with the help of duran, you will become the overmind.

 

I miss the 1st overmind...i like him better than Kerrigan, then again, zerg are my least favorite race.. =P I hope he comes back in some odd way to make trouble to Kerrigan x

 

Kerrigan will possibly remain the sole ruler of the zerg for the entire story of starcraft 2. I predict that she'll die when the story ends. This sends the zerg into disarray once again and results in a cliffhanger. Then in the follow up expansion pack(s), either multiple cerebrates will fuse together to make a new overmind again. Or the Xel'Naga might step in to interfere the entire swarm with their ''new'' overmind or something new.

 

I think if anything the Xel'Naga would just rather wipe out the Zerg. Start with a clean slate.
As for another overmind, I certainly hope note. The overmind is overdone.

In the last mission of StarCraft I blew up both the overmind and the overmind without it's shell before the mission ended. I did this by sticking 5 or 6 nukes down its throat at about 1/2 second intervals. So, I wondered why Tassadar had to go sacrifice himself to destroy something that wasn't there anymore.

once a [shelled] overmind dies it is immediately overlaped a basic undeveloped overmind set in an invincible state, of which then blows up about 2 seconds later

I don't think he needs an Overmind.

 

StarCraft 2 is 10 years after Brood Wars, no 4.
Also, the old overmind was kinda cocky. And boring. He didn't really do much.

Cocky? Nah. He was cool. And unlike Kerrigan he wasn't the peak of evil... he just wanted to eat the Protoss.

Oh, and regarding the amount of years that has passed since SC: BW... no one really agrees, since one source says 4 years and another says 10. Blizzard will tell once the time is right.

And to be real honest - 10 years is like... a lot of time for Kerrigan to rape every faction in the sector.
