    somewhere....not sure
    well, i recently installed Speedfan and i was shocked to see my core temperature at 80c, i searched around and found out that the recommended core temp is around 40c-65/70c.
    i was concerned about my temp so i decided...for the first time....to open up my comp.

    well, the first ever noticeable feature of my comp was the bunnies ^^, dust bunnies, so i cleaned those.
    i noticed the fan and when i was cleaning it, the dust was going towards the heatsink, so i unscrewed four screws and well, lets just say i learned that the fan is made up of 3 components

    heatsink--dust wall--fan

    ======= 80*0 |"""""|
    ======= *088 |----|
    ======= *008 |----|
    ======= 80*0 |___|

    i had to get rid of the second layer, ahhaa

    so check your internal comp temperature,
    for those "cool people" who overclock their comps, its essential to have the software

    TL : DR, Check you comps internal temp, clean your cpu

    EDIT: cant we have the ability to edit thread titles? *facepalms*

    I would clean mine but it's a pain to open because the case is damaged so I have it held together with duck tape and wire ties.

    And you run games on that?! Omg omg omg

    I am having trouble with even opening the case, and mine is in pretty good shape. Nice tutorial, though. I would add to your rep for finally having a new tutorial here, but we can only do that once a day. -already spend it-

    It would be kinda logical to include strapping cables together in your tutorial. Makes for a much better airflow. -If your fans work correctly and actually blow the air outside, instead of just circulating it.-

    I'm not too sure about getting to fan on my laptop, but I'm sure there's more dust than fan in there ;p

    download and install the software

    then itll show you some things
    temp1/2/3/etc: i think these are the multiple sensors a CPU has
    HD0/1/etc: your hard disk temp
    Core: your core temp, i think its your processors temperature, this is the important one you need to monitor

    But I don't have internet on my desktop in my room....The only reason I'm online now is because I'm on my school provided laptop with internet blocks and I can't download anything on this computer without the administrator's permission....Any more recommendations Captain Obvious.....

    If it doesn't show core temp, then two things can cause that:

    - Your BIOS refuses acces to the information, so check the settings there. It could be caused by faulty speedfan settings, but I doubt that. It should have some auto-detect function.
    - Your sensor is broken, little you can do about it, but you can check it in the BIOS if it really is broken.

    if youre on a laptop, then if theres only one temp, then thats your core temp

    if youre on a desktop, then i dont know...

    Speaking of computer tempurture, I've heard of using mineral oil to keep it cool. Like a modified method of liquid cool. You build a container out of plexiglass, fill it full of mineral oil, and your computer will run in it. That's the rough details. It causes your computer to get hotter slower, much slower. The down side is that when it does it hot it gets a lot hotter then it would with fans. So like if it takes your computer 6hours to hit 90 degress F. Then it would take 10 hours with mineral oil.
