October 31. An appropriate date if you ask me. And yeah, you shouldn't overclock to be able to play the game. You could overclock it, but it'll give you pretty bad performance and instability, not things you'd want to mess around with.

Fine. Go ahead and overclock it to 1 THz, you'll still be safe.

It really depends on your system.  If you have a good cooling system go high if not don't.

No just hold off. The 2.0 GHz will hold you over till the real prize: AMD is coming up with a native quad core processor VERY soon. Native means that all four cores are on the same die (Intel Quads are actually just a pair of duals in the same package) reducing memory latency and increasing speed. They said release would be late 07.

Overclocking is really something that is done for fun, as a hobby. If you're doing it right, you know, adjusting the power and cooling appropriatly, overclocking often ends up costing more than just upgrading your system.

That is one of the reasons why I laugh at people who brag about being able to overclock they new Core 2 processor or new video card.

But it has automatic tools for overclocking. It makes it easier to overclock the chip.
Yeah? well that just makes it easier for unexperienced people to push their systems past capacity and catch it on fire

alright now I'm overclocking my video card. I alkready set it up for a 10% increase and works fine but how much further should I go? I need a program that will tell me tempatures not just me guessing

I assume that you installed the software that came with your card. Those USUALLY have temp monitors. Is it in basic or advanced mode? Usually the meters are under advanced mode.

You said you were using Vista though right? You could get a sidebar gadget with that on it
