    Alright, here goes.

The purpose of this topic is simple. Blizzard announced about 30 missions each for Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and the -erm, edit later- protoss campaign.
These missions will be quite diverse, as already proven by the examples Blizzard gave us. However, I doubt that they can keep coming up with totally different missions.

Since I am short sighted like that, I would like to see what we, as a community, can come up with. This can also cause us to come up with new units or tactics, which can only be good. Even if we get no attention to this from the big B at all, we will still already have tons of ideas for custom maps when we finally get our hands on the editor.

So, in short: post any mission based idea you have at this topic, or dicuss them. Nobody has really paid much attention to mission structure yet, and since the forum is kinda calm at the moment, this might be a good time to start focussing on this aspect of the game.

    Behind Enemy Lines

    I'll start.
This mission is called behind enemy lines. The concept is simple, you are only given control to a sigle overseer and 5 hydralisks. You were sent on a scouting mission by Kerrigan and you have gathered some great intell, but you got spotted. The Terrans immediately activate a psi disruptor, but since you are much better evolved then an overlord, you have 15 minutes before you lose control of your mind. You need to get to the zerg base at the other side of the map and all hydralisks must survive, and since you are an overseer you have no carry option, but you can use a changeling to spot enemy patrols. How about that? -- I will format it later for better readability, but I have no computer atm. --

That's a pretty cool concept. Me like it.

Anyway, I think the campaign will stay interesting because, unlike campaigns on sc1, on these ones you can:

1- ''Buy'' your tech instead of simply getting it. This will have you go like ''Ok, 2 more missions and I'll get the Thor woohooo'' And you'll be totally hooked.

2- A LOT of units. Blizzard already said it. Not only we will have all the old units, we will also see old units return on the single player campaign like the goliath and the wraith. This could lead to some very interesting strategies and unit combinations. IIRC, they even said there would be ''special'' units as well.

Those would be the xel naga and possibly some hybrids, but you don't get to control them as far as we know.

This might mean in some missions you have a choice of tech to buy so depending on what tech you chose to buy might make the mission harder or easier. Or might allow different objectives to be completed in mission. Thus creating a branch in the mission tree.

And we have not been told how said tech will be bought. Will we get some form of currency to buy it? Or will it be based on in game achievements to unlock the tech piece by piece?

And lastly some tech might be stolen from the enemy for our future use.

Well, Blizzard told us about a few of the missions, one of those was a raiding mission. I guess you get a set amount of minerals and gas when you reach certain objectives. -and of course you also unlock tech research options from raiding- Then you probably get to spend it at research buildings or something.
