Omnidiscussion Topic Bainstorming Q2-08

I discontinued the last brainstorming topic because the ideas have run out and the poll was broke.

This brainstorming will only cover the next 2 or 3 months so please leave suggestions and at the end of the month we will vote on which topics to do for May and June

 

Any ideas anyone?

 

You should really get these stickied. Well... we could always use the Queen, or our opinions on the art direction.

What are the current possibilities? Are there any?

Having one about the Protoss and Terran's level of technology, or just technology in general, could be fairly interesting and would get a pretty heated discussion between me and zeratul11. Could also have one on graphics or models or something, because people, including myself, seem to be very concerned about the way everything looks.

 

I could do graphics.

I was considering doing maybe the queen or maybe the Thor. Recently it seems like people want something to happen with that

 

The Thor already has a thread of its own. One of the things that I think killed the defence omnidiscussion was the Phase Cannon topic. It basically covered the whole of the Protoss' defences, so people posted there rather than posting in your thread, so I don't think the Thor would be a good topic. The Queen's plausible, but there isn't an awful lot of information on her.

 

All I can say is answering questions doesn't really start a big discussion. I know I join in these but others just don't as much as they should.
Browse through the big topics were large debates and summerize the information. Then make a topic on the summary then we can take it from their.

So you could be like:
''Ok. I have browsed the recent cannon topic which has been quite popular in discussion and from that I've summerized this:
<insert summery>

That way we can pick on key points that are relevant to discussion and through out the topic you can ask the discussions.

The questions are key points that are relevant to the discussion. If you're saying a simple summary is the key to starting a big conversation then having summaries as well as several questions should be the key to starting a big discussion. Summarising and reposting old topics isn't the way to go. They've already been discussed and everyone's moved on.

Anyway, I think graphics is a good topic. It hasn't got a specific thread, or at least to my knowledge it hasn't, but it appears to be an issue in almost every thread.

Woah, freaky. I was in this thread earlier, about to bump it and re-recommend the Graphics Omnidiscussion, but got sidetracked and while I was away you bumped.

Anyway, what do you mean no-one's actually going to help you out? What's wrong with graphics? I thought we decided on that a while ago. However, since it's been so long, you should probably wait for the next ScreenCraft seeing as they've told us that they're going to release one soon and that they've remodelled a lot of models. Either way, people have been helping you out. Graphics! Different aspects of it are brought up all the time and all over the boards, so why not make an Omnidiscussion topic about it?

 

I don't have any great ideas atm. But I'd vote for a discussion on graphics.

 

what about it anyway?? sorry but im not really observant of graphics but i guess its fine by me as it is right now, besides just a probability of not being able to play it in its maximum potential, due to its proposed requirements to play..

What is there to talk about that? That's all ancient history for StarCraft and there's next to no discussable information on it. What would the questions raised be? What would opinions be based on? All that happened was the Protoss were warring with another race and it was the only time they created a machine purely designed for war, being the Colossus.

We should wait for the next batch of screenshots or ScreenCraft and have a discussion on graphics.

Also, just realised that this is titled: "Omnidiscussion Topic Bainstorming Q2-08". Might want to fix that.

I am honestly out of ideas. Things seem to be quiet at the moment. I might do a graphics discussion but I don't have a clue what to comment on or what questions to ask

I just read the latest Q&A and was thinking maybe we could do a discussion about the various special abilities.

 

that sounds ok with me, taking a look at all the abilities, or at least casters abilities, looking at all the good and bad of them, comparing them with SC1 abilities, and how the lost of old abilities and the gain of new abilities will change how we will play the game.

 

maybe a battlecruiser discussion?
