Oh my bleeding god, Daggoth is dead... :bigcry:
    http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/index.php?topic=3285.0

I am quite distraught, No Overmind, No Daggoth, No Cerebrates, it's like they killed my family...
    ---------------------------------------
This kills a lot of speculation as far as campaign, and story mode are concerned.
What will the player play as?
What might IKerrigan do; especially since she has been alone with that crystal, for four years?

It was quite old, actually. Part of the Blizzcon lore panel, which was announced way before this.

They definitely mentioned that a while ago as a possibility, but they were quite vague. Saying things like 'that we know of' during that lore panel they partially recanted their statement that Kerrigan killed them off. Now it's just unequivocally official.

Daggoth is dead? The storyline didn't say anything about him, even in the zerg section. Oh i see, i just read the interview. But they also didn't say much over there too. Looks like only Kerrigan is left to control the zerg now.

Since the overmind is dead, the Cerebrates cannot live without the Overmind.

Yeah. He was the most loyal and the most intelligent among the Overmind's Cerebrates.

Maybe when the Xel'Naga return, or Xel'Naga artifacts are brought together, they create a new Overmind. That could be the meaning of bringing the world into a doom.

Can you imagine Overmind and all the cerebrates seeking revenge? Kerrigan is in bad sheets!

Well, the Zerg killed the Xel'Naga so why would they create another Overmind when they already know that it'll kill them again?

Well, if their technology created it and they were killed, then its artifacts might do it when becoming functional, even tho a Xel'Naga wouldn't in sound mind. It's like following Frankenstein's plans without knowing what it will lead you to. When triggered, they would cause a chain reaction that would ultimately give birth to a new Overmind, even tho who started it expected getting something else. This way, the Xel'Nagas' artifacts would be sort of like a Pandora's box, a doomsday item that unleashes evil upon the world.

well, as it about the artifacts right now, i dont think the artifacts will do anything directly to the zergs, the tech is old so its probable a weapon/defence mechanism of some sort.

Wow, a new overmind, how scary.
The first overmind was so strong because it assimilated most of the Xel' Naga race. It was killed by overestimating itself and underestimating its enemies.
The second overmind was firstly easily controlled by the UED, then followed by easily being destroyed.
What difference does a third overmind have? I doubt the artifacts will make a new overmind.

The second overmind was hardly grown to maturity, so it had much less experience and strength than the previous one, which had a very long time to develop to say the least. And anyways, the idea of Artifacts becoming Overminds is a little out there. They're probably just some machines the Xel'Naga built that survived the attack of the Zerg.

I think Daggoth is dead but if he wasn't sucked of life he would still be alive.
