But do you REALLY want the old battle.net 1.0 chat rooms? I mean cmon... I don't think I need to remind everyone about the warring clans that came with it. Anyone who was in a clan on the old battle.net has seen the load/flood bots and knows that the system people keep demanding is broken. I mean this is the general opinion right? Does anyone ( who actually played on the old one.) actually think the old b.net channel system was good? Getting kind of annoyed by the billions of topics on the b.net forums by people who think blizzard is just going to put the horror show that is battle.net channels on to b.net 2.0. Am I the only one who remembers that freak show?
blizzard has announced that chat rooms are coming (due to the public outcry). so i believe we will see them, whether people like them or not. but it does seem that most people want them.
I imagine clan chatrooms will have only clan access...That was all just shenanngins exploiting flaws in a ten year old system. Blizz has said they didn't add chat rooms as they didn't like what occured on them so this long wait they're giving us I assume means they are designing good chat rooms.
Yeah, the fact that you assume that Blizzard would implement the same exact chat rooms that have been around for more than a decade is slightly ignorant in my opinion. Let's give Blizzard, one of the largest and most successful gaming companies in the world, a little credit and assume that they're revamping the system.
Anywhere from chat rooms to forums to everywhere you go iRL you'll find all kinds of people including many of the jerk type. In this particular thing since we have a matchmaking system that auto-finds us opponents of our skill level to play against and a custom game system that's not host-dependant but just requires a map to be out and you can join it, it's much easier to ignore people in the chat rooms since they won't affect your gameplay as it is right now in a negative way. At least that's how it seems to me right now.
I didn't say blizzard was planning on using the old ones. I'm just saying its stupid how people expect blizzard to just copy/paste the old chat system onto b.net 2.0 and think its going to work out fine.
But you did not say anything like that in your original post... I do not see anyone saying they should throw in the old system. I see people asking when chat channels are coming/if they're coming. If you're referring to battle.net forums, then ignore them. People on battle.net forums complain about everything.
