I saw on the starcraft2.com site that observers sometimes has his ''tail'' opened and sometimes closed. I thought maybe when he opens his ''tail'' he cloaks, but isn't it always cloaked?
I would guess that it is simply visual. Maybe when it is moving, the tail is closed, and when it it stationary, the tail is open.
I agree with ninerman. Its just to show the new graphics that they are having in SC2. Can't wait until I can buy it!
The tail opens when it is not moving. Doesn't the observer look kinda small over those probes though? I always had trouble finding those things and they go and make them smaller
I know what you mean, they always kept disapearing on me when I needed them most, and then I find all 5+ of them after the cloaked units have already dealt damage.
Well hopefully that blue shine will help since it contrasts with the yellow of most buildings and units in the protoss base. The sine shouldn't show up for enemies though. That way the observer (or other cloaked unit) still has the advantage of low observability even when detected
Well, I think they was specially made small, bcos then they harder to be seen them by your opponent(it's spy unit), or even by their owner ^^
Misplacing your observers is not a positive thing. If they took that into consideration when making the model they would have made it bigger or a different color so you dont lose them. edit whoops wrong name.
I think it'll be impossible to misplace your probes, since there will be an "idle worker" icon, just like in WC3.
there is? Finally, I always kept leaving workers lying around and not realize it until 5 minutes later. The worker icon reminds me of the idle villager button the minimap in Age of Empires 1, 2, and I think 3 had to find idle or garrisoned villagers in your empire.
