I just can't help it but to feel downright dissapointed with the actual nuclear explosion dynamics. I'd expected more of a thrill at seeing it go off. Like a bright flash of light a split second before hearing the explosion and what about an intriguing shock wave? But that seems to be too much to ask. For the game overall, I feel this specific remark is a microcosm of what is missing in SCII: the details, the fine points in the game dynamics that just aren't there. So much time spent on graphics and storyline. I guess something has to give. But the game is remembered over and over by it's online gaming, the game dynamics that we see over and over again, and not the single player campaigns. Well, whatever. As for me, I'm not too crazy about Starcraft this time around. But I guess it's good enough for now, since there's no other game out there that even comes close to it. Not even close. INDEPENDENCE; take us to where we belong.
I am slightly confused by your post, but I will try to respond. I personally think the nukes graphical explosion is fine as it is. 1. It doesn't distract me to much. 2. I know where it hit and I disagree with the gigantic explosion and flash of white. I mean it doesn't decimate EVERYTHING. 3. As you said, it doesn't matter how it looks, Starcraft 2 is an amazing game, and I think it matches everything else in the sense its not an extreme eye candy explosion.
