Because the original contest was to run for exactly 1 year and it ended this previous August. However, recently Blizzard decided to extend it and start it again after it was so popular.
Okay, but at this moment right now I can't see all those pics. Did you know there are other pics for the same contest from Europe and South Korea ? Other awasome pics ! When you are on the page where you see the months and the pics, select above the language too. Try 'Français' for instance and you'll see pics from Europe =)
