No offense to Blizzard because from what I've seen, things for SC2 are looking great.

But for a game that apparently has been in development for 2+ years, how can there be so little finished or even started when it comes to the Zerg? I mean, how can they be working out balance in the game with only 2 races? I'm not a programmer but it seems that that task would be a lot easier to manage with 3 working races so you can gauge the balance both ways. No point in balancing the terrans and the protoss because something might be unbalanced when you factor in the zerg (fleshy, no mech units, etc).

Or is blizzard just being really sneaky and not letting on that they have a bunch of the zerg race done...?

It's not so much whats finished, but, whats balanced to a point where the public will give feedback on it they couldn't have gotten on their own in their own test facility. That being said I did expect a bit more of the Zerg to be done by Blizzcon and at least be able to be shown. All I've seen are the units we all have seen and some IT Concept Art and Hydra Concept Art. Otherwise.... well I'm a bit disappointed as well.

I agree with ShdwyTemplar, but I would be willing the bet that the Zerg are a lot more developed than we are supposed to think. Blizzard wants to keep us on our toes about Starcraft II, and its working. Nevertheless, the Zerg are still probably farther from completion than the other two races. They probably just have enough of the basics finished to help with balancing all three races.

Also, you have to realize that they've built it completely from scratch. EVERYTHING is new. It takes time to write an engine.

Lol, disappointed. Christ. Anyway, I don't think Blizzard is really putting a whole lot of effort into balancing right now. They're still making alot of progress on units and buildings, campaign storyline, cinematics, voices, etc.

In a Interview they said they were gonna be MUCH more ambitous with the release than other games and I hope release is not TOO far away I would say 1-2 years.

The game isn't even in internal alpha yet and they said zerg was still in the concept stage but probably a little more developed than they want us to think. I mean for first time showing the story mode it looked like they worked on it quite a bit and we didn't even know about it until recently.

didn't pardo say though that there is definately stuff to show? i mean think about it, they can't just throw everything at us at once and then we hear nothing until release. They need to release info in bits and pieces along the way to keep us interested. im sure they are farther along with zerg than they are letting it seem.

If I remember correctly, there is a gaming event at Germany near the end of August. Maybe, Blizzard might release some basic Zerg info around that time.

Blizzard keeps secrets really good: I think Zerg is in balance right now.
They only want to make us more excited about the game. But I get tired of waiting..:)
