No sc2 chat room sucks..hard to get friends

one of the things i love about rts games is having friends and 2v2..like when i play bfme and there were clanwars etc...i cant find that in sc2 though...are there any place to find friends to play with and make it more fun because the game rocks!!!!

 

We have a "share your username" thread if you want to befriend random people. Other than that, you'll just have to wait for the 'imminent' b.net update.

 

when is that out? what is that update doing?

 

It's probably a long way away, knowing Blizzard, and it adds chat channels, among other things. Maybe you can find out more at b.net - I only know about this because of the live feeds and the article here.

 

It's already been announced that chat channels are coming.
But yes as Kuvasz says, we don't know exactly when.

But rest assured, they ARE coming.

 

I'm expecting that one too cause out of my only 3 irl friends that are interrested in RTS one's got no sc2 as his pc can't play it, the other is in the army for the next 6-7 months and the third somehow disappeared, so I'd also be glad for such a feature to come up soon...

 

It is coming soon but who knows when soon is. They said last patch 2 patches ago.

If you want an idea of when the chat channels are going to be put up look at their job application portion of blizzards website. Right now they have to fill a lot of moderator seats for the new chat system. Thats a lot harder then you think, and we are probably talking at least a hundred new employees. This costs a lot of money and I'm betting they will wait till after cata starts bringing in some cash before they dump a fortune into a whole new department worth of employees. That and they have to fix the chat channels first... Please god don't let it be like battle.net 1.0..
